I ordered a pie at the Beechworth bakery and found a surprise cockroach in the tray as I was waiting for my coffee. I bought the cockroach to the staff’s attention, to which they grabbed it, laughed it off, and still gave me the pie. I wouldn’t normally want to complain about a business, but the staff didn’t even apologise or seem to care. You’re honestly better off going somewhere better town the road.

Even though there are so many coffee and cake shops in Beechworth, this one is still one of the best. Some days the service may be a little slow, but just take a seat and enjoy the scenery or read the paper. So many different types of cakes, slices , pies and pasties, all tasty and fresh. Sit inside or upstairs on the balcony.

A REAL TREAT FOR ALL PASTRY AFFICIANODOS.
VISITED THE BEECHWORTH BAKERY ON A RECENT WEEKEND AWAY, AND IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP.
FRESHLY BAKED FOOD ITEMS OF ALL SORTS, PIES, CAKES, SANDWICHES AND A GREAT AMBIENCE IN A SETTING OVERLOOKING THE STREET.
TEA AND A GREAT COFFEE COME WITH FREE TOP UPS, AND I THOROUGHLY RECOMEND THE BREAKFAST, HARD TO BEAT

I love them! Everytime my partner and I go there the food has just been made, the staff are awesome, it's a great place to sit and have a coffee or a pasterie with a friend. Definitely recommend it.

This is a great place for lunch or a coffee break. The pies and pasties are really made well and while you are there try a nickerdoodle! They have plenty of salad combination rolls and of course their coffee is just great. Service is a little slow so make your mind up before its your turn to order. Lots of parking too.

Every time I come here it's packed, as to be expected since it's a bit of a tourist icon. The cakes are nice, but the ambience is noisy. It's hard to find a table, and usually they are dirty. I know people will go anyway because it's an institution but I just wish the bakery would employ more mature/qualified staff. The bee stings are always lovely if not a bit overpriced

I lived in Beechworth for a while, and have also visited this bakery before, and after that time. It gets a lot of hype but in my experience and tastes, falls short of many other bakeries. It's not so cheap either. The Ned Kelly Pie is always worth a shot, but be careful as the base of the pies can crack frequently. The sausage rolls are lacking flavour for me, so i always get sauce. The lines are always completely chaotic, in fact there really aren't any. It's a walk in, then 'whoever gets' situation. I will say however that in recent months, the taste and quality of the pies seems to have risen noticeably. They make well presented pastries that's for sure, and they're worth a shot if you're there, since there's not really much (if any) competition there in that category. It's just that i think there is much room for improvement.

This is a lovely old bakery in the historical town of Beechworth. When you step in the door you feel that nostalgia of days past. It feels very welcoming inside and the smells of all the different foods waft around the room. Yum!!

I ordered a bushman's pastie, it was delicious. So many different types of cakes available at a reasonable price. A very nice place to visit for lunch and a hot cuppa. Next time I visit Beechworth again I will definately drop in for lunch.
