We really enjoyed our visit. The building is beautiful...the pottery is expensive but you are paying for quality. It was nice wandering around just browsing.

The kids were offered a $4 clay pack which we bought them (just a take away container with a block of clay) & they sat down & made things, shapes etc...which they loved & filled in half an hour or so.

We loved looking through the antique stalls & found a rusty bargain for my garden in there! The lady in there was lovely & had a good chat to my hubby.

Then we had morning tea in the café which was very nice...kids had a biscuit & a baby chino each & we had a Devonshire tea....with a coffee & yummy big scones! The prices were average (think Devonshire tea was about $8)

We didn't visit any of the art galleries with 2 boisterous boys!

It was a good morning & I'd say pop in & have a look... it's free to have a wander & well worth the stop.

A great tourist spot conveniently located on the Midland Highway. The Salt & Pepper gallery has a wide range of high-standard artworks, as well as some beautiful scarves. It's a bit disappointing that the olive oil store is not open on weekdays, but I'm sure it's well worth a visit on a weekend. The garden was landscaped nicely, with lovely pieces of art and sculptures scattered around it.

However, once we stepped inside the pottery house, it was unbearably hot. It was a mild sunny day, very comfortable outside, with a nice breeze in the garden. But inside was like a baking oven, making it quite uncomfortable to walk around and look at their displays of pottery (though their artworks are beautifully made and each piece is unique due to their being handmade).

Cafe inside was even worse. Only three fans were on even though they had more than three in sight. The wind was hot, making our stay inside the cafe rather unpleasant. Perhaps this had something to do with the kilns being located in the adjacent room. On summer days this place is not as attractive as it should be - my advice would be to insulate the kilns rather than wasting such a hidden gem in summer time.

This is a lovely little tourist spot and ample room to wander around and enjoy all the pottery on display. The prices are a bit high, although I appreciate the work that goes into making it. There are lovely little rooms with artists works on display and you can watch while they work. One big downside is the place is extremely hot and although they have fans around the place, it doesnt really help. Best to visit on a cool day.

The pottery itself is lovely. Its very expensive but you know you're buying the real thing. Even the section selling seconds was pricey. The staff in the pottery section and art and antiques galleries were all very stuck up. We had lunch at the cafe there and it was very nice, still over priced for the kind of simple food they offered. A great place to visit and I would love to go back and do the tour through the old kilns and have a try at throwing a pot of my own.

They have on display original wood fired kilns and pottery making equipment that you can explore, along with displays of their pottery which is available for sale. There are a couple of little side galleries displaying local artists' works.

The cafe staff are very friendly and the cafe serve a variety of home cooked meals and lovely cappuccinos.

The only negative comment I have is that they don't have air conditioning just a few ceiling fans making it very hot and stuffy on very high temperature days.

Having worked for the Pottery for a short time, I can vouch for the quality and expertise that go into the making of the items that they produce. The people that they employ are the best in their field and the artistic work that comes from their hands is outstanding.

This is one of the best tourist attractions in the district. There are many items to look at and buy. A lot of it is good quality. It is possible to buy seconds as well. The history of the pottery is very interesting The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They do guided tours. Parking is no problem.
