With secondhand book stores fading i am unsure if they are here anymore as my last visit was a few years back but i was at one point a regular due to their selection, friendly staff and the fact that there was similar book stores in the area so i'd make a day of it.

Called up to see if they had the travel book I was looking for in stock ... yay they did! Late night on a Saturday ... a 10pm close - wow! Arrived to pick up my book & the staff member was really friendly.
I know it's just a book store but I still thought it was worth rating :)

This is very good for a second-hand book shop. Light and airy, lots and lots of books that are well organised in tall shelves, and a lovely atmosphere with rugs, leather couches, and a cafe upstairs. New stuff downstairs also good. And you can sell them your old books for cash or vouchers.

Tucked away in O'Connell St just off busy King St, the Berkelouw bookshop in Newtown is a must visit. They have an excellent selection of new books, including a great design/art section, as well as a vast second-hand selection upstairs. A highlight is definitely the comfy cafe with delicious cakes and coffee, and a wonderful atmosphere that makes this one of my favourite places to visit with friends.
