I'm naming and shaming.
Went to have my hair blow dried today and when I got to the counter to pay the $30 I discovered I'd left my wallet in my other bag!
I had $15 tucked in a zipper of my bag but no wallet so no cards or cash. Mortified, I explain the situation. Hairdresser tells me I have to get someone to bring the $15 and I'm not to leave the store.
I explain that I have our car so I can't get Greg to bring it to me. Can I leave my bag, phone and race home and get it? "No."
Since I have my phone can I transfer it to you? "No."
Can I speak to the manager? Same deal from the manager. "We gave you a service and you are not to leave here until we are paid in full."
I say I'm trying to figure out how I can organise that, work with me a little. Can you call a security guard maybe? "Oh I've already called security on you."
I ring Greg, by this time everyone is looking at me so I'm in tears. He'll have to call a cab and bring my wallet. Security guard arrives and rude Manager is barking "She's not leaving here" over the top of me while I'm trying to explain the situation to the security guard.
He looks at the Manager as if she has three heads, reaches into his wallet and pulls out $15, gives it to her and says to me "Just drop it in to concierge when you can. Sorry, I can see how embarrassed you are."
I drove home and got my wallet and gave him back the $15 and a $10 scratchie. Hope he wins a fortune! Thank you security guard "Drew" for being such a nice guy.
And thank you with a big middle finger up, Blondes & Brunettes Hair Salon Westfield Mt Druitt for being absolute arsewipes and going out of your way to make an unfortunate mistake as embarrassing as all hell.
Mortified!!!

Usually go here to get my hair cut/coloured if they can fit me in.... Really happy with the service I get here. They understand what I mean when I say can I get it straightened lol. I have a lot of fly aways and frizz in my hair and it is wavy and curly and just has a mind of its own. But when I get my hair done here I can leave it for a couple days without washing it and it stays straight. I go for the package deals they have....Really cheap! Have to pay a bit extra for long hair but they will always quote you before you start!

Always go here to get my hair done. Usually no waiting, cheap prices and lovely staff. They also sell rather cheap hair products and are helpful to decide the right one for you.

I went here in the middle of the dy on a Friday and it wasn't very busy at all, I didn't have to wait and they sat me straight down. I did make an appointment but you don't need to.
They have many packages that suits anyone ranging from $55 for a colour,cut and blowdry to $99 for a full head of foils.
They were very helpful in selecting my hair colour, and I was more then happy with the result. I would highly recommend this place, low cost and the results are fantastic

I love it here the staff are super
Nice and do great work and for a cut colour treatment and blow dry it is an extremely reasonable price, the salon is always clean even when they are run off their feet busy, only problem I ever have is getting in because so many people use this salon

I got my hair done here almost two months ago and my head has still not healed. The hairdresser burnt my scalp with bleach resulting in a bald patch, damaged hair and infected scalp( requiring 4 full courses of antibiotics and burn creams). My head is still bleeding and weeping and I now have multi-hair (blonde, brown and orange) because I cannot dye it again until it heals. The management of the store has still not returned any of my 10+ phone calls.

While this business should hang their heads in shame, they should also be making an effort to communicate (and compensate) you for your ordeal. When it comes to affairs of my hair, I'm rather simple. I don't straighten, curl, colour or blowdry my hair. If it needs to be fixed up, I simply go and get my hair re-layered. I've been going to Blondes and Brunettes since it opened, and every experience is significantly different from the next.

I've mentioned in my other reviews that I highly value consistency. When I'm waiting to be called up at B&B, I can't help but fear that they will butcher my hair as they have done before in the past. When I needed my fringe trimmed once, the hairdresser grabbed my fringe as it was, combed it once and cut it. She did not spritz it or fix it beforehand. When I asked if she could make it slightly shorter, she went through the exact same procedure and made it so short, it no longer covered my eyebrows. I felt ridiculous as I looked like a child. When I complained to another hairdresser, she said she could "fix it" by blowdrying it straight.

I feel that some hairdressers at B&B undervalue particular customers depending on what they're getting done. I have gotten the impression that $15 haircuts are not given much attention. They no longer wash, spritz or comb out hair as one would expect. I had one irate hairdresser once tell me that I should comb out my hair very well before coming to her next time, because it made her job difficult. I considered this to be rather rude because I had in fact brushed my hair and it was only slightly tangled from the wind outside.

My last haircut was unremarkable and slightly better than the ones I have had in the past. Their cuts are very fast - this one was less than ten minutes. While I appreciate efficiency, I felt that this was in order to accommodate a higher number of customers a day. When I washed my hair at home, I discovered numerous stray locks that had not been cut along with their respective layers. I find this irritating and disappointing. Just because I only pay $15 does not mean I should be entitled to inferior service. I am paying for a service and I only appreciate that service when the expectations are met.

Blondes and Brunettes must have a crazy rate of staff turnover. I've had some amazing haircuts at B&B and I took their names down. When I revisited a month or so later, the staff had no idea who those hairdressers were.

While I've had good experiences, the bad probably outweighs the good. Their prices are great, but you can never really be sure what you're in for -- and that is a feeling I do not welcome when it comes to my hair.

Hi JMS1984, thanks for your comments. I wholeheartedly agree with you on the small businesses thing - while large chains can afford to be a little slack, B&B should not take that sort of liberty with their clientele.

It is remarkable that I've given them so many chances - mostly because all the other hairdressers that cut for cheap in Mt Druitt are equally as appalling. And if you dare to voice your unhappiness towards a hairdresser and their service, they always say "Well, that's what you asked for." I should really find some place else!

If you ask for Kylie or Megan at Hairhouse Warehouse Blacktown they're happy to change it if you don't like what they've done. When I wanted a thicker fringe Megan (the manager) brought one layer after another so I could see how it looked and I asked her tostop cutting layers after 2 layers. Not sure on price...I have a feeling they're a bit pricier. You could always ask me to do your fringe :)I maintained my straight fringe every two weeks until I got lazy and decided to grow it out. I could show you once, if you don't like it, nevermind. If you do, you then know how to maintain your own fringe and can save $$

Hi Aidanadia, thanks for yet another brilliantly executed review, packed with detail. Sounds like the hairdresser in question must be a magician, as we have never stumbled across anyone who has the ability of rejoining hair after having cut off too much! (Sarcastic tone present). Obviously management do not comprehend that it is often by utilizing the 'cheaper' services on offer that consumers return for the more ‘expensive’ ones. In light of this, it would be advantageous for them to put more time, effort and concern into their ‘specials,’ as this would likely see an increase in clientele. Another area of concern is the high employee turn over, which speaks volumes about the way in which the business operates. Incidentally, one of our family members is a hairdresser and she has never once charged any client for a basic ‘fringe’ cut. Thanks again for the heads-up! Regards, Reeces

Highly recommend blonde and brunettes at mtdruitt Manager Linda cut and coloured my hair 1 week ago she is a fantastic hairdresser il be going back there had so many compliments how nice my hair is after going to blonde and brunettes at penrith and getting a bad haircut from the manager so happy can't thank Linda enough she was very good at cutting hair best hairdresser in the west

i found the staff very polite and gave me what i wanted..eaveen though i wasnt too sure of what i had wanted and iam very pleased with the survice
