i love the desserts. Their services was alright. Is not fantastic but at least they did not ignore you on purpose. Not attentive. Food wise was ok. They do provide value lunch.

Blue train ahs some realy good meals, the sefood pizza with sundried tomatoes and large prawns is my favourite, the service is slow and it is overpriced but i can't go past that pizza even if i do have to wait 20 minutes to get served

I love to go into the city and eat at Blue Train. Great food and a great food I always get a table on the balcony. The fish and chips are my favourite.

Having had poor service at Blue Train before we decided to give it one last try for desert after the theater one evening. Our dinning experience was below average from entering the store. We waited ~5mins to be seated, despite being the only ones waiting (and free tables being everywhere). We then waited ~10mins for menus (which arrived only after we indicated we were about to leave), the coffee and cake itself was good, the ice cream which was served on the side (which we didnt ask for, but were certainly charged for) was melting.

Went here one Saturday night for a friends birthday. It was crowded but a nice atmosphere. I had risotto it was a good size and tasted great. Good choice of drinks from the bar.

While the meals may not be as outstanding quality as some other places, they are a great place to duck into for breakfast. They always have some great breakfast deal on (bacon and eggs with coffee for only a few dollars). I breakfast here each time I visit Melbourne.

I went to Blue Train Cafe on a Sunday night after seeing a show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Since we were at Fed Square we decided to head to Southbank to have some dinner. Blue Train was a convenient choice as the atmosphere's pretty relaxed and it stays open late, so you can be pretty confident that you can rock up at any time and get a table and some food.

I had linguine with smoked chicken and a creamy sauce. The serve was a good size and it was fine, but nothing spectacular. The consensus from the others was similar - the food offers no real surprises, either in a good or a bad way. The wine list was pretty minimal, with fairly standard choices from Aussie wineries, but at least the mark-up is not too high.

The real highlight was dessert. We shared a sticky date pudding, which was light, fluffy and very tasty and a (big!) piece of toblerone cheesecake. Both were excellent. The service was very attentive when we arrived, although a bit disorganised (several waiters wanting to serve us), and we had to wait a while to be offered the bill at the end of the night.

Overall, a very convenient spot for a post-show meal and conducive to a good chat. The main meals were unspectacular, but the desserts were very good.
