This place is simply amazing! Highly recommend outdoor seating on sunny days. Nice view overlooking the banks.

Went there for a catch up. Mocktails were superbly done and well presented. Food was amazing also, although a bit overpriced. but well made and delicious. Definitely will re-visit again soon. Eggplant chips were really good. Pizzas had some really unique toppings. Dips were average but cannot complain.

I also hear they did cheap breakfasts $6.50 mon-fri up til 3pm. Check their website for confirmation!

This was my favourite place to eat between 2002 and 2006. It had great service, great food, and great feel. Then, I guess the boss decided to cut budget and first removed free dinner rolls before dinner, then nicely laid tables, then regular chefs and waiters, and switched to the cheapest options so now 90% of people preparing meals and looking after the dishes and the kitchen are Indian or Indonesian studens or apprentices, or so they look to me at least, and no one wears gloves (not whenever I came) and people who prepared food used to wear gloves in early 2000s then from two ent down to one glove and now to none at all. So, I am no longer visiting. It's totally off my list and used to be top of my list. Sad.

I can't rate this cafe highly enough. The interior is fantastic, the food is nice, there is a bar and lounge for those who want have a good time. What I particularly love is the gallery idea. The restaurant allows emerging artist to decorate the walls with their work as publicity. In all it is a great experience here.

We'd heard about this place and was invited there by some friends who wanted a catch up.

When we walked in we were shocked by the noise. The place was buzzing and there were people literally falling all over themselves. Once we got a table, which was a struggle due to the maze of people we had to get through and the wait we endured, we sat down but had to shout to each other to be heard. It was like being at a concert.

The food was probably your average restaurant fare. Nothing really special or to rave about considering it's pretty pricey. The view was nice but not easy to see through the crowd.

When we arrived at the Blue Train cafe it was overly busy, people everywhere. Been in Melbourne on a week night in a spot were there is so many other places to eat i didn't expect it to be so busy. We were told to wait half hour for a table, so waited up at the bar and enjoyed a drink. After what seemed like a long wait starving, we were seated at a nice table over looking the river. The food is a little over priced but delicious. Service was satisfactory just seemed rushed.

I love blue train. I love the atmosphere and I love the food. The eggplant chips are to die for. This is our classic date night venue, so much variety and guaranteed to suit anyone. double thumbs up.

We love this place - great food, great atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff! We had a catered pre-wedding gathering here, which was great - they brought out heaps of lovely pizza slices! We often take friends here for a meal. It's the best place (and least pricey) to eat at Southbank and has lovely views over the Yarra and across to Flinders St. Station.
