Firstly, let me say I have never been made to feel so welcome at any restaurant as I was by the hostess at Bombora. It was a cold, windy, winters day when we first went there and she cheerfully invited us in and sat us down with perfect views of the ocean through the big windows. We were holidaying some distance away at Victor Harbor and towards the end of the holiday we discovered Bombora and from then on we drove there every day for afternoon tea. My wife said the apple cake was the best she had ever had and the brazil nut cake was my favourite. We asked the hostess where she bought the cakes from, thinking we would get some to take back home with us. She said she baked them herself! Multi-talented for sure. Their wine menu includes wine from France that I had never heard of before. We found it very relaxing sipping French wine while watching the surfers. When I got back home and Googled the word Bombora I discovered it is a surfing term, very appropriate. A few days ago we went back to Bombora with some friends and we all totally enjoyed the food, wine and views.

Fantastic venue. Right on the sea shore. Great for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee and cake. Find their menu can be a bit pricey on some meals, but the atmosphere and veiw are outstanding.

Awesome cafe, right on the foreshore at the bottom end of Beach Road in Goolwa Beach. The best quick and easy fish and chips, yummy coffee and wonderful service from the girls. We don't visit Goolwa without stopping for a coffee and a read of the paper with the waves crashing nearby. Even on a cold day it is cosy and warm, get down there!

Approximate cost: $8
