I purchased 6 books on the 10th December. That night they sent a newsletter email stating that orders were to be placed by midnight that day for Christmas delivery.
Then on the 20th December they sent an email stating that 2 of the books had missed the christmas cutoff and they would send as soon as possible.
Then i got an email on the 21st December saying the other 4 books had also missed the christmas postage cutoff.
When i asked why it had taken 10 days to process my order i was told they were busy.
These books were for my 6 month olds first Christmas. Now with 3 days before Christmas i am left to find something else to get him.
Booktopia cancelled and refunded my order at my request.
I will NEVER buy from Booktopia again, this has upset me very much and nothing can fix this.
AVOID Booktopia at all costs.

I put up with bad things all the time and I'm tired of it. My latest experience with Booktopia is one of these bad experiences and I feel I want to say something so that business practices change. I purchased a book which clearly stated on the website that it would ship within 2 weeks. I chose Booktopia for this reason, because I thought I would get the book around a week sooner than an overseas business such as Amazon, thinking it is stock in Australia. After purchase and after following up a month later, I was informed that the book would take 6 weeks to arrive to the Sydney warehouse, then I would later be informed of a tracking number from there to Melbourne. This will be an 8-10 week delivery on an advertised 2-3 week delivery. Nowhere on the site mentioned the book was out of stock. It's a 'take the money, then order the product' company and consumers need to aware and information should be clearer. If you don't carry the product, please don't advertise that you do. I would have been happier paying double the book price for air-freight from overseas and receiving the book in the advertised period.

We decided to use this online bookstore to purchase a number of books as Christmas presents. The cost of these books was much less than they would have charged us at a bricks and mortar store. They arrived in a heavy duty box, well packed and on time and tracked all the way. Great service

Ordered a book that is shown as one that is stocked by Booktopia. It wasnt. They have ordered it from overseas 3 months ago and I still have not received it. Got an email stating they have received it in their Distribution Centre 3 weeks ago and still I wait without receiving the book. Pathetic Customer Service. Non Existent response from messages sent using their Booktopia website using My Messages section. No Communication skills whatsoever. I will never use this business again. All email received is automated. HOPELESS.

I discovered Booktopia recently and have made a few purchases. My books always arrive very promptly and in perfect condition, thanks to Booktopia's careful packaging.

HIGHLY recommend this site for books! Cheap ($6.50!) and very speedy delivery.

Great prices, great service (I've received a super-fast reply every time I've contacted them... which is more than I'd be willing to admit :P). The $6.50 flat rate shipping is fantastic--especially if you're ordering more than one book. It's worth signing up to their newsletters, too--they frequently run free-shipping promotions!

Ive been able to find so many books that I just can't get locally. Postage to Tas is usually a little slower, but Ive never had to wait more then a week for my purchase.

I ordered 2 books to be delivered in two days time, at less than half the price of similar services. Okay, they came in three days time, but what a service! The books were in perfect condition. $6.50 for 2 day delivery Australia-wide, no matter how big your order is. I also got e-mail notification to let me know how the delivery was being processed.

Apparently you can also pick your books up from the factory.

I am a regular with these guys, you can earn points as well by going through WDYT website. The delivery time is swift and they always have specials on, so whilst I don't buy everything I want at the time, I guarantee I can get it at some point! Fantastic online bookstore where you can also do a pick up if you are passing nearby. :)
