Bridge Builders Youth Organisation is a not-for-profit charity in the local area of the Outer Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The organisation uses event management and business enterprise to build 'assets' (skills) into young people. Bridge Builders utilise the '40 Developmental Assets' model created by The Search Institute in the United States. The Search Institute identified there are 40 assets that will assist a young person to be a responsible adult. The model works by means of the more assets young people have, the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high risk-behaviours and more likely they will thrive.

All our events, programs and enterprises such as the 'UR Retreat' 4 Young Women, the Maroondah Grand Prix and our indoor skate park have aims and objectives that include the Assets model and our mission statement to ensure young people feel loved, valued, accepted and belonging.

Bridge Builders has been a part of the local community since 2002, in that time Bridge Builders has grown our membership well over the 200 mark, with 70 to 80 young people who volunteer regularly and with several paid staff.
