Buddha's Kitchen is awesome every time we go. The service can be slow when they're busy, and the setup with having to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilets isn't ideal, but the food is worth any perceived difficulties. The food tastes fresh and the service is always friendly. The small room and dark lighting makes the restaurant feel intimate rather than dingy, and in general everything is done classily. Would definitely recommend it! Best Asian fusion food ever!

Thanks, this certainly sounds like a restaurant my husband and I would enjoy.

I'm going to regret saying this as Buddha's Kitchen is one of the best restaurants not only in Adelaide's west, but in Adelaide. Now I'll have to book, which is advised anyway.

It's Vietnamese meets Thai but the chef may also have an international background as he holds the salt so you can taste each of the flavours. I had beef in a mussleman style broth. My partner had fish and both were excellent. I was wrapped by the aromas which took me back to wandering around Hanoi around dinner time. What ever you do, sample the entrees. Any entree. They're all good.

The ambience is modern Thai with a massive bronze Buddha as a central feature. They have used black and red to great effect. It's an open walk in kitchen so you can see and smell your food being cooked. The herbs and spices are on display and make a great feature.

I'm not a fan of charging $10 corkage but it's a business strategy, so fair enough. If they get a professional to advise them on the wines, they're in a for a Chef's Hat in 2011,

Do yourself a favour. Go now.

We found eating in this intimate restaurant to be a real treat. The Asian food had a real Vietnamese feel. A big statue of the Laughing Buddha watched over us, the atmosphere was warm & friendly, the waiting staff attentive but not intrusive. Our needs were catered to unobtrusively, considering there are only 35 seats in this cleverly lit restaurant.
The food had really delicate flavors & did not overpower the freshness of the prawn or the chicken dishes we had. A small plate of nuts & crisps added a thoughtful touch while we waited for our meal. No sauces out of a bottle here, fresh herbs & spices are whisked up in the kitchen which is open to the rear of the dining area. There is a sensitivity to this restaurant that is unusual in my experience. We were treated like valuable patrons. Maybe the vibe of the Buddha has permeated the atmosphere & the food as we found everything about this place eclectic, inviting & worthy of another visit very soon.

Approximate cost: $15-20
