I've been here only once but I enjoyed it, not a lot of people know this place but I'm glad I do. And the name has a certain ring to it and every time I go there, I feel fancy. The service is good, the food tastes great, the coffee is sensational too.

The first thing you notice when you walk into Cafe El Beso is the deep red walls that are lined with frames of antique photos. The colours kind of make the interior appear a little dark but it works with the feel of this cafe. There is seating out the front on the sidewalk, indoor dining or out in their cosy courtyard. I usually prefer to sit out the front at the tables as inside can feel a bit cramped when they are busy.

I've only eaten a meal here on a couple of occasions - I've had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast and also delicious french toast with strawberries and cream. I tend to go here with a few friends for cake and coffees. The drinks are always hot and the cakes, muffins and slices are homemade. The food quality is fine, I would probably describe it as ordinary though - there is nothing wrong with it but nothing super about it either.

Staff are pleasant and calm even when it is busy.

The only payment method they accept is cash so make sure you visit an ATM before eating here - the first time I went here I got caught out and someone else at my table had to pay for me!

Approximate cost: $14
