This is usually one of my first stops whenever I return to Melbourne. I always gets the eggs forestiere with a side of hash brown. It's a very traditional breakfast done very well. The eggs are always done perfectly and the coffee is amazing.

Approximate cost: $approx. $20

Nice little café on Coventry Street. I have eaten here and the food was nice. They have a good menu with some nice specials too. However I mainly go here for a takeaway coffee. The coffee is good, though not incredible, however it is well priced compared to most other places and the service is great. Even though I only come here once a week, they remember my order and you are always greeted with a smile. They have a loyalty card with every 6th coffee free, so this makes it even better value. Muffins are delicious too!

This little cafe has been going for many years now, which is an indictment of how good it is. The food is terrific and they have a wide variety of choices. It has a great ambiance. Only problem is parking and getting there along that horrific Clarendon Street.

Excellent eggs for breakfast. Really busy on the weekend. I have been there 3 times and the service was really bad all times. My order was mucked up, coffees incorrect, coffees came 15 min after meal, very slow service. Though as I said really great eggs

The breakfast menu is one of the best in Melbourne. It can be hard to get into on the weekend though so best to book.

Approximate cost: $15

This could be described as a breakfast only cafe, given the extensive Breakfast menu. No less than 8 different types of Eggs Benedict style dishes and the Hollandaise is Amazing.... The coffee is excellent.

It gets insanely busy so its best to book ahead for a weekend breakfast, whilst we were sitting at our table we saw 5 sets of diners told to either come back later or no there was not enough room.

Of course being this popular it goes without saying you will wait a while for your food and for any type of service and it can be on the expensive side, but the taste is worth it. Breakfast perfection.

Approximate cost: $16-20
