My husband and I have decided to reduce the amount of meat we eat, and commit to only eating high quality, 'friendly' meat. Cannings is perfect, in that I know exactly what it is I'm buying, there is always someone friendly behind the counter to offer up information on the growers/farmers, and the quality never disappoints. Everything from chicken schnitzel to kabana to dry aged beef, as well as a really nice selection of high quality small goods. I love telling people about it, as it's so nice when you're the one to recommend somewhere that's consistently impressive.

Love the smell of the in-house smoking. The service is old school excellent with attention to detail and even better is the quality fresh meat. This is what Hawthorn has been waiting for.

Great selection of tasty meat, and the service is always top notch. You pay a little more, but the meat is of higher quality. The smoked hocks and bacon bones are the best I've found in Melbourne.

I've been buying my meat and chicken from Cannings for a couple of years now as I needed a reliable source of free range produce. I was happy to find Cannings but I was finding the travel time there and back a bit time consuming (about 50-60 minutes round trip). Now that Cannings are doing home delivery, it is so convenient for me and so easy to use the service. I email Sam with my order, he will ring me to collect my credit card details over the phone and then deliver! I always get a discount AND free delivery because I'm buying 3-4 weeks worth of meat and chicken at a time. I would highly recommend Cannings to anyone who likes good quality free range produce.
