This business has now closed as a pub forever. The old hotel building is now a private home which in the future will be turned into a bed and breakfast. The motel is undergoing a full transformation and rooms can be booked by calling Melissa on 0414 707 842 or 544 111 77

The Captain Cook has Changed hand's and the new owners Colin and Richard took over in February 2013.

The day we went, there was few ppl in the dining room, So I feel not a lot of people know that they have changed hands. The dining room had a nice feel to it with comfy chairs and the table's looked like old floorboards that had been sanded back and tricked up, they looked great and gave the place a homey feel I loved it. They are going to be doing some reno's, so I will look forward to going back to see the change.

The Food was tasty and fresh. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with a mushroom sauce, the salad was freshly made with a Balsamic dressing and came with homemade crispy chips. Colin came out the day we were there to make sure everything was ok with our meal.

There is three menu's, a lunch ranging $10 to $16.
Bistro menu with steaks from around the $22 to $26ish
Seafood they get in Fresh a couple of time's a week and was reasonably priced it made me wish I could eat seafood, starting at $14 Hervey Bay Scallops.
Entree size Morton bay bugs $16.

I felt like something a bit healthier so ordered a chicken caesar salad, When the salad came out the chicken had been crumbed and deep fried, was swimming in mayonnaise and had potato wedges through it. The food came out quickly and tasted good but it just wasn't what I expected a chicken cesaer salad to be.

Approximate cost: $18
