The manager was extremely rude, shouting and aggressive when I questioned why I was charged more than the cashier had quoted. I was belittled when he said can't I even see the sign stating there was a surcharge for all payments with cards, (no I hadn't seen it and assumed I'd be charged the total that the cashier had told me).
I was refused when I asked for a refund on my card so I could pay cash instead. I'm a small woman of 150 cm and his intimidating manner did leave me shaken. He ended up shoving a gold coin at me and said "There, are you happy now!" All whilst an elderly lady right behind me was also charged over her quoted price and clearly confused about being Informed of a card surcharge after the sale, rather than prior.
I left the store and was standing in the corridor searching my contacts on my phone when the manager left his shop and started gesticulating at me saying, "There's the exit, you're blocking everyone". (I wasn't blocking anyone, there was plenty of room and nobody near me at all.)
Just to inform others, they had a minimum spend of $5 for card, they had a surcharge for all card payments, they quoted a different price than the surcharged total so I was expected to read the sign with terms and conditions, figure that out myself there was a surcharge and calculate that in my head before deciding how I wanted to pay. I was treated with hostility just for questioning why I was charged more than the quoted amount. I was refused a refund for proceeding with my purchase that I didn't realise cost more than the total quoted price asked for by the cashier.
I had deliberately gone there to support small business... I encourage people to find another grocer who values his customers when paying $17 for a bag of apples and half a rockmelon.

While in the fresh food area we stopped here and bananas, apples, and avocado were added to our purchases. Always like this green grocer. Seems to have more room to browse in the new set up.

A neat and tidy store, with room to move around ,although it does get busy. They have a good range of fresh produce, plus other things like nuts, fruit bars etc.
We have picked up some good bargains close to closing time, when the boss stands out the front and sells off some produce cheap.

Good fruit and veg shop with friendly service. They have reasonable prices but probably only because Woolies is right next door. What is good however is that they have some specialty foods like dried porcini mushrooms which are hard to find.

This fruit & vegetable shop is situated in the Marion Shopping Centre. Due to this their prices are a bit more expensive but the convienience is great. They have a large selection of fruit and vegetables as well as a small speciality section with jams, mustards, chocolates etc. They are open seven days a week which is handy.

Haha, I had to laugh when reading one of the other reviews - I always buy the dipping chocolate for the strawberries!!!!!!! I love that stuff so much. Anyway, Carousel has a great range of yummilicious fruit & veg, at a great and affordable price. Buy South Australian!!!

Look out for the bulk buys - bags of mushrooms, capsicums, tomatoes - there are bargains to be found! End of day specials can also be great for strawberries, bananas, etc. You can buy lovely bouquets of flowers from here 'ready-to-go', or even order your own 'special arrangement'. If you buy the strawberries, be sure to buy the dipping chocolate - drool-worthy.

Approximate cost: $99c/kg+
