I bought a pretty expensive road bike online through the Sydney store at a great sale price. It arrived within 2 days and was an awesome shopping experience.
However, their Melbourne store is nearby and has been a let down. They never seem to stock the items offered online and their store prices are average. Seems ridiculous that they're a few blocks away but their interstate store offers better.

Yeah that is pretty frustrating about the prices between the stores.

Didn't have a very large range of the accessories I wanted in store. Salesperson wasn't very helpful/enthusiastic/volunteering more information than was immediately asked. Overall not all that great, would prefer to shop online instead.

Everytime we go in there, they are always too busy to talk to you. Well at least it seems that way. Their range of goods are very limited, prices aren't too bad though. Have purchased from their online store before but you can't pick the item up in store. Would rather go elsewhere to get the customer service that everyone deserves!

We get all our goods from here as they are top of the line with knowledgeable staff. Their online store is also of good value. They also do great bike maintenance. Location is a bit hard for parking but you can always ride your bike there :)

The story from the start. Cell Bikes are partners of the Qantas store (meaning you can use your frequent flyers to buys things from them); we started emailing them back in September asking about their bikes and the ordering process. We placed an order in October for a ladies bikes and a men's bike. After we paid they told us they were out of stock of the ladies bike but will have them by the end of the month. October ended, no bike, at the end of November we were told Christmas blah blah blah early January. First week of February we emailed them to ask when the bike was due in, 3 days later we got an email from Qantas saying that our points had been refunded, no email or call from Cell.
We went into the store twice, once in October to get the size of the bike and once in January to see if we could get any communication face to face or swap to a different bike. Both times we were totally ignored by the staff and treated like it was an inconvenience to have us in store. I'm a pretty quiet and shy person I never made a fuss about this till now; every time I was in store I was very polite.
The service was just so awful, the way they ignored us was almost to the point of rudeness and I would advise to shop anywhere else.
I will also say that if you look at the Qantas store today they have bikes showing as in stock that they told us in September were old models and are not available. Without calling them you could well be in the same situations that we are.

I haven't actually visited their store as I live in Victoria, but I have used their website and it's really good.
I'm not sure I would buy a bike from them online (although I'm sure if you knew exactly what you were after, it would be fine), but I have bought a number of accessories and I've been most satisfied with the experience. The items have all been really good quality, they're posted quickly and they have a good email confirmation system to tell you what stage your order is at. My only issue is that some of the information about items online is often a bit scant (e.g. sizing, how things work, what they're compatible with, etc.), and that's put me off buying them, because I'm not 100% sure about what I'm getting.
Sign up for their weekly specials email, they often have really great deals. The specials start every Monday morning, so check early in the week as some items are only in limited supply.

Having moved from the US we found a dearth of online shopping retailers who offer online ordering and any semblance of customer service. These guys have been amazing. I started commuting by bike to work and needed some equipment. Their range and prices were unbeatable. The order process was easy and quick. I placed my order and the package arrived on the second day after that - shipping was very reasonable. Right there and I would have been happy enough.

I tried on a pair of shorts and found that a seam started to come apart. I emailed customer service with the issue and asked whether they could help. They told me they would ship out a replacement and to keep the original. The replacement was received on the second day after that email exchange.

Every retailer in Australia could take a leaf out of this company's online e-tailing book.

Approximate cost: $300
