So happy I have found this lovely , very cool salon . The staff are 1st class very good . I have been to a lot of salons in fitzroy Carlton and the city, this is the best by a long way, jay did my colour /cut . Love it

I've just been for a cut and colour at chainsaw massacre salon and must say that this is the best hair cut and colour I've had in years. This cute little salon has a very relaxed atmosphere. The head massage was to die for!

Similar to the previous 2 people who've reviewed this, I too had a not-so-great experience with Chainsaw Massacre. I tried this place out because of the funky name & groovy decor. The staff are absolutely lovely people, and it's a great looking place which is obviously the owner's pride & joy.
However, I was disappointed with my haircuts there. The colouring I received was pretty good actually - however I do have to complain about how damn long it took. I was there over THREE HOURS for a simple hair colouring. The stylist was just to slow and relaxed, and was multi-tasking with other clients during my haircolouring (while I know this is normal for hairdressers to do, it was waaay too inefficient here).
I was annoyed and over it by the end, even though the colour itself was nice, if not a tad expensive.

As for the haircut - yikes. I only wanted a bit off and he cut it WAY WAY WAY too short. I was devastated. My hair does not grow quickly at all, and he ruined months and months of work.
And the cut was expensive.
Unfortunately have not gone back. Sorry, Chainsaw Massacre, I wanted to love you, but couldn't.

The decor is edgy and the staff are lovely but my haircut was of a very low quality, especially considering I paid $60 (which was the student discount price). My haircut was boring and poorly done, probably worth no more than $25.
