I have literally travelled for a meal here! This place is one of the best Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne.

I love the laksa in this place, it's what I always order, can't say anything about the rest of the food. Good and respectful service.

Right next to Laksa King and also serve really really good Laksa. My husband loves their Beef rendang. I always order Sambal Kang kong as side dish.

Great food at very reasonable prices. Be ready for a long wait for a table if you arrive during peak dining times, and make sure you have cash, as there's no card payments.

I think this has the best laksa/malaysian food in town. Very busy place, right next to Laksa King, but slightly different vibe, as the restaurant is split over multiple levels allowing for little nooks to be created, rather than 1 big dining room.
I love the beef rendang. amazing flavour, super tender. Laksa is great too! great flavours and you can get a great feed for a low price if you order smart. never feel rushed once you get a table, despite the queues out the door. Take away is another good option and you never have to wait long. Local favourite!

I have always gone to Laksa King which is next door and I decided let's give Chef Lagenda a go with a friend one day. I found that Laksa King's laksa had been lacking in flavour the last few tries and thought why not give this place a go.
I had Hainan Chicken Rice, Curry Laksa and Ipoh Wat Tan Hor Fun. Chicken was not boneless if you are not used to this but obviously not an issue with me. Flavour of laksa was really good, the eggplant had a beautiful taste and really yummy. It had a melt in my mouth quality and I really love eggplant in laksa. The service was typical of an Asian place, abrupt but with the number of people at this restaurant I would expect that. The place is packed and there is an upstairs section but we were still looked after well. The menu is very extensive if you are after dishes including mud crab. I am looking forward to trying more dishes here!

My Wife and I have enjoyed the food at Chef Legenda on numerous occasions over the past two years. We have eating in and taken away chicken rice and have been very pleased with the taste every time. I would not hesitate to recommend Chef Legenda for quality of food and value for money.

We go there every week. Getting very popular now, so safer to book first. Nice laksa. The Lagenda Meal has two meats, noodles or rice and soup for under $10.00!

In the debate of Chef Lagenda vs Laksa King, I will go on record and say I side with Chef Lagenda. I just love the variety they have in their menu. They have traditional soups, authentic authentic Malaysian dishes, and of course, bubbletea. And I feel that their laksa is better than the laksa at Laksa King.

The only downside is service is not very attentive and sometimes forgetful (when the waitress does not write down the order). And also the place is tiny so gets packed out. Oh, and BYO booze only.

An obvious competitor to Laksa King, this restaurant serves up a great selection of Malaysian food. Food is also slightly cheaper than its competitor. However, the restaurant is small and often runs out of seats quickly. Slightly claustrophobic too.
