I have been dining at Chicken on Lygon for 2 years now, ever since the change of ownership and the new menu has come out everything has gone down hill. Not only have they increased prices but the quality of food is very poor. The chips are always under cooked and the 1 time I asked for them to be crispy / cooked longer they were all burnt and uneatable. The chicken in the burgers / wraps always taste old and a bit off and the bread is never fresh. If you really want to see great chicken go to the new Fat Fried and Tasty further up lygon. Let's hope the new takeaway stores opening beside Chicken on Lygon get them to pick up their game.

I called in at this shop recently as I was in the area and needed a quick chicken and chips lunch. I was very pleased with the quality of my meal as it was my 1/4 chicken was cooked just right, not burnt as can happen at times and had lots of flavour with its seasoning.

The chips were crispy and freshly when I placed my order. The only thing I have to say it that for me personally there was slightly too much seasoning/salt on them for my liking .... then again I prefer minimal salt on my chips, so I cannot blame the person serving me!

Overall, I am pleased with this shop and will be happy to return again!

Parking was easy enough along Lygon Street.

My fav tak away and they use Lilydale chicken yummy for my tummy! The chips aren't overally tasty, but teh roasted vegies and potato bake are a treat. My partner gets the chicken wrap which they are renowned for.
