So as a fine dining restaurant, if you dine at Citron you will of course need to order entree, main and dessert to fill up. So yes, it is going to set you back quite a bit of money.
Is it worth it? Well the food is certainly interesting and with the emphasis on Asian flavours, a little different from many other offerings. The food is not quite as flavour fulled as you would hope as you should be pairing each dish with wine (to enhance the flavour).
They are making the effort but really the food kind of disappoints. The decoration and presentation of dishes is okay, but not that great. The flavour combinations sometimes work and sometimes don't. They also tend to pile up your meal so you have to deconstruct it to start eating (this can be done to great effect, but not the way they were doing it).
If you have the money, give this place a try.
my favourite restaurant in Brisbane. We are in walking distance and go at least once a month. The Asian fusion flavours are fresh and delicious. price wise its average for fine food (around $33 for a main). Outstanding service every time- there are lots of waiters who always come around filling up your glass with chilled water. Not like other restaurants that make you pay for still water. I love it there. the owners are really friendly and the staff are super nice.
I had the BEST lunch I've ever had. I highly recommend the taster plate entree. I had trouble deciding what to have but decided upon the chicken which was fantastic. The people I dined with also loved their meals. This restaurant will be my first choice when dining out next time.
We frequent this local restuarant every few weeks as it is soooo delicous. The food is absolutely amazing with its fusion of thai/australian/modern asian cuisine. The tempura eggplant stack is my favourite and hubby loves the asian duck in a sweet soy ginger lime sauce. The prices are not cheap but you do pay for what you get. And thats first class quality. And the staff are lovely too (especially Peter). We take our kids there as well and the kids are welcomed. The kids meals are amazing as well. Main course around $32.00, entre about $17 and kids meals $12. Dessert about $14 from memory.....If you like Asian fusion you will not be dissappointed but be sure to book as they are very busy.
This is without doubt the best restaurant I've been to in Brisbane in the past year. Modern Asian cuisine with the sort of menu that has you struggling with so many choices of what you'd like to try. Grab a seat on the deck to enjoy the balmy Queensland evenings and save room for dessert because the options are enticing there as well. I couldn't fault the food or the service and that's something in itself because I'm sometimes hard to please when I'm parting with my hard-earned!
