A good spot for coffee and cake in Underwood. Service can vary (according to my friends) but when we went we felt welcome and well looked after.

This review is for Enternet Cafe, Nathan QLD

So I ended up out at Nathan on the university campus there and we went to the Enternet Cafe for lunch. This place has a wonderful space, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is well shaded and reasonably well protected from rain.

The food is interesting. The menu has plenty of healthy options, but also some boring ones like club sandwiches and noodles.

Go for the atmosphere, you will enjoy the food but most items won't excite you.

This review is for Dees Thai Lao Restaurant, Calamvale QLD

This restaurant has both Thai and Lao food with a few lovely surprises that make it stand out.

Try the coconut prawns for your entree, not so sure about he quail, but the chicken is lovely. The ox tongue is worth trying too, if you want something different.

Friendly service as well.

A nice noodle restaurant with a wide range of noodle options. There are options for those who love spicy noodles and those who prefer savoury.

Basically a nice spot for a cheap quick meal.

This cool little Asian style cafe is run by a Canadian guy and a Korean girl (husband and wife).

The food is Korean and Korean/Japanese inspired. So you have traditional Korean soups, Korean style meat and rice dishes, as well as Japanese food.

Their signature dish is the chicken wings which are sort of Korean and come with a variety of flavours. A popular option is the $21 Chicken wing all you can eat buffet. But they also serve garlic toast (trying to get you to fill up on that).

They also have Japanese style hamburgers.

Nice place, often busy even on a week night. Weekends you have to book or queue to get in.

This review is for Treasury Casino, Brisbane QLD

The casino here is small, but they manage to make up for this with some interesting little spaces that are nicely separated from the gambling floor.

The cafe downstairs is fairly sad, but opens 24 hours. The buffet restaurant is pretty good, but the quality has decreased over the years.

There are two bars in the casino. The Kitty Bar is pretty seedy, but the bar at the back is great on Fridays and Saturdays for 80s retro rock.

It is a nice place to drop into, especially if you are not gambling.

This review is for AMF Bowling, Kedron QLD

This is my local bowling alley. Bowling can be a fun mid week activity and you can head here for a meal/bowl/drink deal. But you can also go here on Friday and Saturday nights for a late night deal.

Hey bowling is heaps of fun if you don't take it that seriously.

This review is for Aspley Ten Pin Bowl, Aspley QLD

verified email - 25 Jul 2016

Aspley 10 pin bowling is the cheapest bowling alley that i know of. We went in for the meal/bowl deal. The "restaurant" there is more like a canteen with some basic food. Maybe if you have some kids you want to feed, then it might be okay. Not really a good date, but it was nearby and we tried it. Bowling of course is fun.

They also have a pool table and video games.

Basically it is a cheap night out.

This review is for Feel Goodz, Woody Point QLD

I really like Woody Point and it is a nice destination for cycling (or a stop off if you want to cycle further, but we stopped here). Feel Goodz as nice ocean views and for us, great homemade gelato.

Other items on the menu include sandwiches, salads, cakes and cold meat platters. An interesting place to stop into. I don't know about the other items, but the gelato is good.

This review is for Monte Lupo Gallery and Cafe, Banyo QLD

This area is a combination of cheap houses, factories, warehouses and unique cafes, bars and other venues that really surprise.

If you want to do some suburban exploring head to the Monte Lupo Gallery and Cafe just for the place. You are surrounded by artwork (mostly ceramics), with an outdoor area to relax in as well.

I popped in here for the Bowls with Soup night, where they were serving delicious soup in lovely bowls.
