Paid for a Fire, would not fit,so they organised for a wall to be put in and a free standing fire. They refused to put a skirting board on the wall, despite saying they would. When it was demanded they put all the components on the front pouch, and left. Leaving a hole in the roof and no connected fireplace.

This was a situation where we were dealing with someone who was abusive to all our tradesman. We have never had a problem like this in our 39 year history in business. We refunded this person in full without hesitation. I am pleased with our record over our 39 years in business and our reviews have always been favourable.

It has taken 2 years for this company to post a comment and then it is not factual. They did not return all the paid for items and I have documented proof about that. As for " all our tradesman", funny that there was only one. There is an old saying, if you are in the wrong fight back with aggression and accusations, well here you have Classic Fireplaces & Barbecue Centre, doing exactly that. This is over two years ago don't you think its time to grow up and admit you were wrong and as I have just get on with life.

We selected Classic Fireplaces and BBQs in Eltham from their website because it showed that they had a good range of brands and models. We were impressed with the range of working units on display and with the good knowledge and friendliness of all their sales staff. They came out for a quote within a few days and came in slightly lower than another quote. They coordinated the timing of tradesmen and they all arrived on time. The gas plumber was good and checked for any gas leakages on our property. The metal framing to box-out our fireplace complied with fire regulations. Had I framed it up myself it would have been made from flammable timber! We were impressed with the quality of workmanship and our Jetmaster Heat n Glow I-30 gas log fire is now installed and looking magnificent. There were some delays in settling other minor loose ends, including leaving unneeded hebel blocks in our lounge room. That is all sorted now. It may have been cheaper to arrange for my own tradesmen but I am sure it would be more difficult to coordinate them to arrive on time.

Approximate cost: $5500

We went looking for a gas log fire and were lucky enough to call at Classic Fireplaces in Eltham. They were able to show us a large operational range of fires and we decided on a jetmaster heat and glo with surround fireplace. Classic over 5 weeks had the mantelpiece made, the fire ordered and gave us a date for installation, On the due date they arrived at 8 AM and the whole job was finished and cleaned up by 4PM and they had transformed the lounge room & completed the installation with hardly a hint of dust even!

Approximate cost: $6000
