Went for xmas in july saturday 10th july worst night ever ....food was appalling paid $50 a head 3 course meal was not enuf food to feed a cat ..entree pumpkin soup or roast beetroot salad ...what a joke pumkin soup was a thick paste we could eat it with a fork roast beetroot was beetroot out of a can rocket was dry no flavour of anything Mains turkey and veg well 3 small slices of turkey one little carrot and 3 string beans cold mine crispy pork belly i couldnt even cut it it with a knife it was dark and disgusting was cold ....desert xmas pudding and custard well miniature muffin with spoonful custard will never eat there again sooo!!! dissapointing Clovey pick up yr standard Not Good Enough!!!!

Been here a couple of times and have good a bad experiences with the food. The last time I went the food was very below par considering the price I was being charged but at least the salad bar was good quality. The surroundings are quite nice but probably are in need of an upgrade.

I had not been to the Clovercrest Hotel or the "Clovey" as it is now called for over 10 years prior to our recent visit and I was pleasantly surprised at the massive changes that have been undertaken during that time. The hotel is now an ultra modern, spacious well presented venue with facilities and amenities to suit every taste in dining, a quiet drink or a sports person and more. We went to 'Smithy's Bar' for a meal and a few wines. We were served our meals promptly and what meals they were. No one in our party was able to finish their meal because of the size .., they were gigantic and very tasty. The price was very reasonable and comparable to anything around at the moment. The prices do vary from front bar, Smithy's bar and dining room, but all are still good prices. The price of the wine was also very acceptable. A good venue for a quiet drink and/or a meal....we will definitely not be leaving it for another 10 years before we visit this hotel again.
