Zero stars STAY AWAY they are absolutely terrible and the worst doctors and receptionists I have ever encountered. They should be ashamed.

I had phone consultation the previous day for my report with a GP. He told me that the I need to to take medicine immediately. I waited more than 24 hour for prescriptions but he never sent. The receptionist also told me that they cannot do anything if the working from home GP did not send the Prescription. Again I had to book another GP for my report.…again waited for more than 3 hours in a queue. There was only one GP after 6 pm and still they were booking for patients. Very careless from GP, price oriented service. Rather look for another clinic.

Staff is unprofessional. Doesn’t know a word of English. Extremely disrespectful. I believe the doctor was high on drugs and racist. He talked extremely rude to me. And asked me to go back to your land.

Shashikala was really nice as a doctor. She helped me a lot in my treatment. She is very knowledgeable and understands the problems of a patient. Highly recommended.

Being bulk billed, this is a good place to go if you are required to do multiple visits. For instance, if you require multiple referrals for specialists.

Their online booking system is touch and go, so it's best to turn up, and if you don't care which doctor you see, then you can be possibly seen earlier.

If you do need to have multiple visits for the required referrals, then insist that the receptionist records your visit. Otherwise, they will follow up multiple occasions to get you to make an appointment, even if you had already done so. I even rang them up, and the receptionist told me to ignore the reminders. After receiving yet another phone call reminder today, I finally spoke to someone more professional who assured me that she will remove me from the reminder system for the last referral.

It is great that they are after hours, which is handy for working people. However, I would feel uncomfortable in going for anything more serious because the doctors' time is limited and not enough questions are asked.

Very bad service, they don’t have doctors, no improvement in my health. Very long wait I went there two times , both times long wait of 2 hours to see doctor. Receptionist says it only takes 30 minutes. Worst experience ever . Will never go at coburg mediical centre. I highly recommend everyone don’t waste your time going coburg family medical centre.

I've never been to a bulk billing medical practice with reception and medical staff as friendly as this one. I went late one Monday night when I was unable to get an urgent appointment at the clinic I normally go to, and despite it looking like a full waiting room, was seen within 5 minutes.
The reception staff were lovely, attentive and didn't seem to hate their job OR patients - unlike any other bulk billing clinic I'v ever been to! The doctor I saw was also attentive and it didn't feel like a cattle train at all.

I will definitely be going back to this place when I need to visit a bulk billing centre (ie, when I'm running low on money or for quick/simple things) rather than the one I used to go to. Highly recommended.

The receptionists are unprofessional and uncaring. "Duty of care" is absent from their vocabulary. I used to come here frequently when I lived in the north and the longest wait I've had to do was 1.5 hours. Earlier this morning I had to wait two hours (after traveling one hour to get to the clinic), even after I told the receptionist that I had work in the afternoon. The doctor, Dr Habi I think he was, was actually nice and very helpful. In my experience the doctors are all nice, patient, and attentive, except for one doctor who in the past made uninvited, unwarranted, judgmental, negative comments about my body (WOMO prohibits me from saying the doctor's name). I have never made appointments to see this doctor again, and I have been conscious to avoid her at all costs, and I personally advise my friends to do the same.

Look, if you are not a worker or full-time university student, and you have no caring duties, and you don't mind waiting long hours, you might be ok to come here. Sometimes you might be lucky to not have to wait too long. But if you are actually *not* unemployed, don't bother as it's not worth the game of luck. If you have things to do with your time, dealing with receptionists' unprofessionalism is not worth it. There are other places in Melbourne where you can see a nice, helpful, fairly priced doctor within 30 minutes.

This place isn't very good the wait to see a doctor can take a very long time, they don't have many doctors on and some you can't even understand.if you only have a cough or a cold then they can help I recon they should come up with a better system so people get seen a lot faster.

Hi Princessj1, while we do not personally have an issue with overseas doctors coming to our shores, we do take issue with those who cannot communicate adequately. Communication barriers within medicine can be a matter of life and death and we feel that not enough is being done to resolve this most serious issue. Thanks for the heads-up! Reeces

They can be good if you need to pop in for something straightforward or need to see a dr on weekends or evenings. E.g. I have gone there for simple things like repeat scrips. However the long wait times, surrounded by gross sick people - even when you've booked an appointment - are a pain, and doctors have never taken the time to ask those extra questions. I will be going to an (albeit more expensive) local GP for more personalized service

Hit and miss with the doctors - if you get a good one it's a very convenient place, bulk-billed and if you're smart enough to go outside the times everyone else goes - e.g. go early mornings or late nights - you'll often be seen immediately. Go on the wrong time, however, and it could be an hour or more...

Terrible service. Few doctors and hordes of patients. Long queues with waiting time ranging from half an hour to three hours. And finally when you do get to a GP, they usually do not have much time to spare. Diagnosis is done within five minutes with almost no discussion with the client. Shocking!

Hi Bijoyd, with such seriously inadequate appointment times being inflicted upon the Australian populace, how can anyone expect an accurate diagnosis? Unfortunately, such developments have more to do with the government and less to do with the afore-mentioned business. Irrespective of who’s to blame, the current system is not anywhere near as functional as it could (and should) be. Very disappointing. Reeces

They are OK. The wait times are just ridiculous! I don't even know why they bother to book appointments. The doctor was alright.

You can book an appointment but when you get there on time you'll find you'll have to wait another 30-45 minutes. There was one extreme and I had to wait an hour. Doctors seem to rush through your session as well. I guess you can't complain as it's all on medicare.

My Dr is there, he is a great guy. My only issue is that the waiting time with an appointment can easily be from 1 - 3 hours. The doctor is helpful (my dr is), he listens and helps. There are up to 10 Dr's working there, a few times my dr was not in and I got a different guy, who was not very nice to me and mad me feel uncomfortable. It is what is known as a 'super clinic'. Open long hours etc. Overall it is great if you need a Dr fast and need help fast. I despite the waiting time would recommend it.

A medical clinic infested with a bunch of cheap quacks got their license off the back of a fruit loop pack. They told me my arm wasn't broken so I went to another doctor three weeks later who immediately got my arm in plaster

Hi Adriannac, thanks for yet another well written review. It’s always encouraging to see reviews written by those with an impeccable TrustFactor. Out of curiosity, did the clinic in question send you for any xray/scans, etc prior to making their (inaccurate) diagnosis? A more important question…has your arm healed properly and was your healing adversely affected by their incompetence? Thanks (as always) for your honest opinion, which is always appreciated. Regards, Reeces

Was the worst place i have ever been to! Doctors there give incorrect information and are not very social toward their patient plus they do not have enough doctors there which means you have to wait long.

When i went to this centre the dr i saw , gave me incorrect medical advice. Told me that a certain medication would work instantly when i ve been advised buy a few other drs that it takes atleast 3 weeks to work. He also was rushing me. WAs not ansering my questions properly. Gave me incorrect advice on how to cut down on a medication that seriosly affects the whole nervouse system if donw wrong. I went home and took none of his advice becasue i just didnt feel right with what he had told me. This is unacceptable andunprofessional and very dangerous for the patient. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this place even i f you have no other option.

Hi DaNi-Ella, good to see another review written by someone with an impeccable TrustFactor. Thank you! While certain groups of meds have the capacity to function within a short time frame, many more take time to ‘build up’ within the body. Any medical practitioner who fails to answer patient questions or is trying to ‘rush you’ out the door, should be permanently avoided, as they are a law suite waiting to happen and are motivated by money and not ‘genuine’ patient care. For those suffering from a chronic ill-health, we recommend employing a health advocate. Thanks again for the heads-up! Regards, Reeces

I went to the Coburg Family Medical Practice for a general check up and was disappointed with the general service. You don't need an appointment and the cost is completely covered by Medicare, however the doctors were disappointing and don't have fantastic bedside manners.
