I bought a plastic cupcake stand for $15 on 9 April 2009 from Coles at Endeavour
Hills Shopping Centre. 4 DAYS LATER, on 13 April 2009, I saw that the SAME PRODUCT
is priced at $10 at the SAME STORE ($5 cheaper). Since I had not used the cupcake
stand and it is in its original condition as the time I bought it, I took it and its
receipt back to the same supermarket to return it so I can repurchase the same
product at a lower price and save myself $5. I was served at the customer service
counter at 4.26pm, Monday, 13 April 2009.

With an unhappy face, in an agitated and stern voice, she said "We'll accept your
return for this but it is not right to return an item just because you bought it at
a higher price the week before and this week it is on sale. You can't keep on doing
this. If you missed out on a promotion, then you just lose out. You can buy another
one at the promotion price but you can?t just return the other one. We are only
accepting this return because my manager said we can't refuse a product return but
THIS IS NOT RIGHT! You can't just keep on doing this."

I think she remembered me returning the battery charger (also unopened, brand new
condition, with receipt) a month ago for the same reason.

I used to go to Coles at Endeavour Hills every other day after work and on weekends.
I'd boycotted that place since then. I've been going to Woolworths instead in the
same shopping centre.
