Always a treat to smell the moist grass, the crunch of the gravel, the chaotic sound of farm animals while there are the city skyscrapers and the Abbotsford Convent in the background. What an experience!

It's enjoyable if it's not raining and great to have breakfast at the cafe amongst the little birds waiting for any remaining morsels of breadcrumbs.

On some weekends that hold the farmer's markets and it's a pleasant day out to get back in touch with farm life yet only a stone's throw from the CBD. A walk along the Yarra is also lovely.

Loved it and I always take visitors here!

Great value day out with the little ones. The kids love the animals and if you time it right you might catch feeding or milking. There is also a cafe where you can grab a coffee or some gourmet eats to top off the day - At $16 per family for entry it definitely rates as one of the best value activities to do in Melbourne

My family and I met some friends at the Collingwood Children's Farm last year. We had heard quite a lot about the place, so was eager to go.

It was quite a good place to visit with various small animals running around.

My oldest boy said that it was a bit old for him but wished he had gone when he was younger. The youngest boy quite enjoyed himself though.

It was very muddy the day we went so it is advisable that your bring gum boots to wear.

I love the Collingwood Childrens Farm. I don't think they should call it a children's farm though, because it's for everyone! The landscape is beautiful, the animals are well looked after and friendly and it's just the escape I need when I'm feeling stressed from city life... and it's so close to the city!

I was here on the weekend, and my whole family fell in love. It is the VERY best location for a family outing, and so handy for a nice lunch next door at the convent. The animals and people here are all lovely! Best of luck with the fight you have on your hands. Elie

Lovely place to take the kids for an outing. Cost $16 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children).

Plenty of parking - there is a carpark just outside where you can park for a flat fee of $4 with 1000 spaces, but be sure to get in early as this fills up by lunchtime.

Not a whole heap of animals, but enough. A lot of space for the kids to run around and just enjoy being outdoors and seeing animals. All the usual ones - cows, horses, pigs, ponies, chickens, goats and a donkey. They milked the cow at 10am and gave the kids a go at it which was fun.

There is a cafe there which was packed and I was impressed they did "kids sandwiches" which were slightly smaller designed for the children but turned away when I saw they were $4.50 for what was technically half a sandwich!

It could do with a small playground being that so many kids go there. Just as an added thing for kids to do, but otherwise a great day out. Will go again.

I took my toddler here for the first time for the both of us, I found them in the Melbourne Entertainment Guide, and they also support my sons creche, so I thought we'd return the favour and go and see what it was like. My toddler loved feeding the goats and looking at the worms, the food at their Cafe is abousltly delicous not a heap of animals though, and very clean, not a lots of poop around. Great place to meet for a drink & chat. Id go back again.

Staff at the reception were quite rude to us when we walked in with a cake for a small childrens party we were having. The farm itself was great and the kids had a ball running around and seeing the animals

The childrens farm is great for preschool age kids. Not much to do for toddlers, but sometimes they just enjoy running around and stopping to peer in at the animals every now and then. Adults price seems a bit steep, but I understand its an inner city with rent. Paying for car parking is an added expense, a few years ago it was free. Theres not many clean places to sit the kids to eat, as most places have poop, but hey I guess it is a farm!

Approximate cost: $8 adult $4 child
