This place was a real surprise for me on my first visit last year. Don't let outside appearances deter you. Looks like it has been renovated inside in recent years and has a nice welcoming atmosphere - inside dining area, outside under cover seated area and a lovely little gallery called the stable gallery with works by local artists regularly displayed.
I've been back 3 times since then, and have enjoyed a good meal every time - tandoori chicken, pork bbq ribs (tasty but messy!) and sumac crispy squid. The lamb dish I had on my first visit was exceptional, but sadly is not on the menu now.
Friends who I dined with who ordered steak have appreciated the steak being cooked exactly to their liking.
Service has always being pleasant and efficient.
Prices are on the high side for a counter meal but servings are generous and food tasty - you get what you pay for!

Approximate cost: $24-34

I hadn't been to Cooleys for YEARS until the other day when my lunch date suggested it...I was slightly dubious since I remembered it as a bit run down and full of pokie machines but I was assured that they have been revamped...and have they ever! The atmosphere retains the friendliness of a pub while still serving good old fashioned counter meals (albeit at tables rather than the counter!) my lunch date and I both had the burger with "bad boy" fries and we both agreed that it was the best burger we had had in YEARS! It even came with a full pickle on top and anyone who knows me knows I am mad for pickles. Our server, Leigh, was outstanding, and even took the time to thank me for leaving him a tip instead of ignoring it like most servers do (one of my pet peeves!). Though its a little pricier than most pub meals I think the quality and service are worth the extra few dollars. Will definitely be dining there again in the very near future!

Approximate cost: $25-$30

wow that sounds like a great place to eat.
I think they're in the Entertainment Book, so if you have a voucher it would make the prices a bit cheaper

The meals were nice but found the prices to be a bit dear for what you received - service was okay.

A very appropriate comment tells it exactly as its is

Stopped for dinner late last month and enjoyed a delicious, filling meal. The service was good without being spectacular, the pricing wasn't too bad, if a fraction on the expensive side for the demographic it's in. Plenty of variety on the menu means there's something to appeal to most tastebuds.

A nice place to dine for nice counter pub style meals, they have a wide selection to choose form on the menu and i enjoyed my chicken parmigiana that i had there too.

Approximate cost: $20

Good, basic pub style food. Specialise more in seafood, which isn't my favourite, but I still always find something good to eat and enjoy coming here.

Approximate cost: $20
