Has just reopened as a Travellers Inn and the interior is very nice but I sat with my back to the stag head on the wall. There is a general dining area and a bar type of area.
We did not book but arrived before 6pm and there were reserved signs on many tables.
Started with the entree share platter for 2 and was very happy with the quality and presentation. Included pork belly, salt and pepper squid, octopus, saganaki, potato cake things amongst other dishes and was very tasty.
For mains I had an entree size of the gnocchi with pork and veal ragout which was delicious and my husband had fish and chips which seemed ok.
Dessert didnt have many choices and the chocolate pudding was a bit dry but the sauce and ice cream was lovely. Next time will have the cheese platter !
Disappointed that they didn't have Sprite or Coke Zero so I just had water and husband had beer.
The chairs are a bit uncomfortable but there are also booths with padded seats.
Service was ok, table service for drinks and food altho a few people went to the bar and got their own drinks.
All in all, a nice dining experience and a welcome addition to dining options in Sale.

Approximate cost: $25 (total $100)
