We stumbled on this place looking for Cultura around the corner. Criterion has a great vibe, pleasant staff, and a great menu of food. Did not try any but menu looked original and food coming out to others looked great
Great atmosphere. Limited seating downstairs some available upstairs though. Loyal following of string coffee drinkers. Large coffees strong and hot! Ever changing breakfast and lunch menu. Service can be a but off sometimes. Always a favourite though, amazing waffles!
Approximate cost: $15
This is a really little cafe in the heart of the city, i dropped in to grab a drink from this cafe and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have a lovely selection of cakes and muffins to choose from and there is also a wide variety of different and interesting bottled drinks to try too, definatly worth a visit!
Updated 14/4/2013: I had the best roast lamb sandwich here for lunch last week! Warm roast lamb, delicious chutney, chunky bread (I'm trying to remember what else was in it - sour cream? Mayo? Something creamy and yummy!) I'd go back for it again (and I will!)
$12 might sound a bit steep for a sandwich, but not when you see it and taste it. It really was great.
Approximate cost: $12
The best coffee in central Hobart! This cafe has a nice relaxed atmosphere with a giant table in the middle where you can spread out your paper while you sip your coffee. Love it!
