This place is utterly amazing. I met some friends here for an event after their dinner, but upon seeing their nearly-finished food I had to try some, and have become a die-hard fan ever since.

The food - especially the desserts! - is delicious, and the price literally can't be beaten. The staff are the friendliest people I've encountered in a long time. The only disappointment is that I'd walked past the place one thousand times and had no idea I was missing something so amazing!

This place is a great place to pick up a quick and cheap feed in the city of Melbourne. Depending on when you get there you might need to wait in the queue and will most likely have to share a table with someone else. Most of the people here are really nice and will help you out where they can.

We went there on the Monday and he the satay. For 7.50 you get a lot of food, curry rice puppadums, dessert, lassi. The food was superb. The volunteers who work in the kitchen were all lovely and kind. Great value for money.
The vibe is lovely with hari-Krishna music and artwork decorating the walls. There are people from all walks of life eating there and it's all you can eat. Perfect lunch in the Cbd

One of the cheapest and best lunches in town. Concession is only $5.50 and you get a huge bowl of curry and rice, drink and dessert. It's very open and friendly, my only gripe is that it's only open for a few hours each day

i love eating here. I am not a vegetarian but i love the meals here. I am also not religious but i like coming to eat in a place run by the hare krishnas. The food is great, the service is very fast and very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. This must be the best valued meal in melbourne.

The food you can get at Crossways is considered vegetarian but to me it's mainly indian food. The menu changes every day but varies only slightly by a change of one or two ingredients so you're pretty much eating the same thing.
Service was quick but after taking a peek in to the kitchen the place then started to look a bit disorganized and unclean.
Good portions of food available at a great price.

Approximate cost: $7.50 full price or 5.50 concession

Yes i guess if you are not used to a busy place and a virtually open kitchen you will see it for what it is. They need to turn around people quickly and get the dishes, cups and cutlery cleaned and back for use quickly.

With the variety of food yes i agree that it could be altered more so that they do not all taste the same. And they could do something else apart from rice with a curry. It could be pasta or something else. but i guess they are trying to minimise on their costs and ingredients in each meal to make it tasty and nutritious at the same time.

Perhaps bring up your concerns with the Temple itself or the people in charge here.

The food at Crossways reminds me of the vegetarian restaurant at my university. Very filling meal of rice with main of the day and pappadams, and includes dessert served with custard and drinks available are cordial and yoghurt lassi. The place is good if you don't mind all the carbs. They have increased the concession price to $5.50 but still good value.

Approximate cost: $5.50

The best things about crossways, apart from the tasty and amazingly good value food, is the community atmosphere. With shared tables and the relaxed atmosphere, it feels more like going to a friends place for dinner than eating at a restaurant.

Vegetarian meals for lunch. Friendly staff and discounts for students or pensioners. I like the food and the lounge area (on the 2nd floor - aka The Loft) where you can relax, pick up a book and get away from the stresses of the city. Collection of ancient Indian SPiritual knowledge. More dairy-free options would be good. Overall enjoyable. I had a heavinly chai soy lattee and a apple muffin. So good. I still go here regularly.

Approximate cost: $12
