Don't bother with crust east brisbane!

(Also posted elsewhere - genuinely quite upset!)

Genuinely terrible, don't bother with Crust at East Brisbane/Woolloongabba (888 Stanley St E)! Just want to get this experience out there to warn others.

We ordered two pizzas + chicken bites with aoili dipping sauce for me and my family. Over an hour later (that part is fine, 60 minute delivery is expected) my NEIGHBOUR knocked on my door to say that there was pizza outside of it!! But there were only two pizzas, no chicken bites.

I am in an apartment building, and my door isn't facing the street - truly a little maze to get to my door, very hidden from the street. There is no way some random passerby could have taken them.

An important element to understand is that Crust uses a third party delivery service (usually Uber, I think). The 3rd party delivery person had sent a photo of the complete order outside of the door, but not knocked (my living room is right next to the front door, and there were three of us there - we certainly heard the neighbour knocking!).

I am good friends with my neighbours in the building, we regularly go out together and spend time at each other's places. So I am extremely confident that they did not take the food.

The most plausible explanation is that the delivery person took the photo and then took the chicken bites.

We called Crust as soon as we saw the chicken bites were missing . They apologised and said that they could do store credit, or resend the item. We requested that they resend the item.

Maybe five-ten minutes later, Crust called back to say that they had a photo from the delivery driver showing all the items there. We can tell you that they were NOT there - the store manager didn't want a bar of it, and rather than acknowledge that it's a problem that the delivery driver did NOT call us or knock on the door to alert us to the food being there in ANY way, just said "Whatever".

I think it's pretty clear that there's a problem with the 3rd party person not calling/alerting to the food, and the only reason that they would do that is to be able to send "evidence" of delivery and then take the food!!

We would have been happy with a, "Sorry, we can't refund/replace due to this photo, but we will complain to Uber/whatever delivery service" - because how else would you catch these things? And we can't submit a complaint to the delivery company, because it was ordered through Crust!

Honestly it could have been solved with literally any customer service from Crust - it is clearly an issue. I get that some people might try to claim they didn't receive things when they did, but if they don't at least submit a complaint, then this kind of thing will never be resolved.

So I recommend not going to Crust - when things go wrong, they will be rude, and not listen, which only allow things like this to continue. When I went to write this review, I saw so many other reviews of similar things happening - parts of orders not arriving! Just don't bother. Not worth the stress!!

Crust Pizza East Brisbane is our go-to for home delivered pizzas. We ordered on Monday night and were impressed with the speed at which the pizzas arrived, how piping hot they were, and as always the quality of the ingredients used.

While we love to indulge with the herb and garlic squares as a starter, the Healthy Choice pizzas are a favourite. The Chicken and Avocado pizza is delicious, and I find the thin whole meal bases of the Healthy Choice pizzas to be very satisfying.

A great range of starters, pizzas, sides and desserts coupled with friendly and efficient service.

Crust pizzas are awesome, they're so much better and tastier than the cheap pizza chains. You get what you pay for and Crust's ingredients are top quality and there's so much variety. You can even get low fat options and gluten free too.

My favourite is the olive and fetta starter, cheaper than a normal pizza but if you don't want heaps of toppings, this is perfect.

While obviously the prices are a bit higher, you can understand as the toppings are extremely fresh and generous. They have a good range of toppings/breads/salads and desserts and they deliver around the local area. Would definitely purchase a pizza from there again. Top marks Crust...
