This review is for Cream Patisserie & Bistro, Coorparoo QLD

A must do for a coffee and cake treat! I have been to Cream a number of times now and always leave satisfied having indulged my sweet tooth. On my last visit I enjoyed a fabulous coffee and serve of baked cheesecake. Delish!
It is always a hard decision as you stand in front of the cake display cabinet in the front window of the shop. The selection of cakes, tarts and goodies is enough to stump anyone! There are lemon meringue tarts, pecan pie, pastries and all sorts of french delights. Cakes can also be ordered for those extra special occasions.
For those who aren't as driven by their sweet tooth, Cream also serves breakfast and lunch.
You can sit indoors or outside. As a venue it's a lovely place to visit. I can't recommend it enough for a little tucked away Patisserie in the 'burbs.

This review is for Gilroys, St Leonards NSW

This used to be a local haunt for us, and it's only that we moved away that we haven't been back. Gilroys as a local is a fantastic spot. An old world style of pub complete with taxidermy framed deer and animals.
Gilroys sees a real mix of people, from locals to those working nearby on a lunch break or popping in for dinner.
A favourite meal wise for us was the chicken Caesar salad, loaded with egg and chicken and full of flavour. They also have a range of steaks, burger, pies and heavier meals.
The service has always been friendly and efficient, even in the busiest times straight after work. The beer and wine options are varied also. A bit of something for everyone.

This review is for Saltwater At Kings, Kings Beach QLD

We've dined here for both breakfast and lunch a number of times when visiting Caloundra, and we've never had a bad experience. The cafe is in a top location right on Kings Beach. It's light, airy and runs with the lovely beach theme. The service is attentive, friendly and efficient.
Breakfast is my favourite meal here, and I can't go past their breakfast muffin, with avocado, bacon poached egg and tomato tapenade. My husband loves their eggs benny. The menu offers lots of other options for those with a sweeter breakfast tooth.
Lunch sees a menu from lighter beachy burger and salad options, through to larger pasta, steak, chicken etc main sized options. I've previously enjoyed the fish and chips, and also the lamb, beetroot and goats cheese salad.
A cafe in a top spot in Caloundra. Definitely worth a visit over other dining options.

This review is for Anouk, Paddington QLD

verified email - 28 Jan 2013

We decided to try Anouk one weekday morning after lots of good feedback about their breakfasts. We weren't disappointed. Firstly for a weekday morning the place was full (I can't imagine the crowd on a weekend!)
The cafe itself is airy and pleasant, the service efficient and friendly. The menu offers a wonderful range of goodies from sweet to savoury, as well as juices and smoothies. I ordered the breakfast bruschetta with crushed beans and pancetta and a side of scrambled eggs. My husband had the spanner crab omelette. Delish! The only minor down side was the portions were a little on the smaller side, however this is far outweighed by the quality of the food.
We will definitely be back!

This review is for Event Cinemas, Carindale QLD

Today we went to Event Cinemas Gold Class and the experience was fantastic.
We were welcomed to Gold Class, given our tickets and menus and the staff member offered us a seat in the lovely foyer area. She then offered us a cold glass of iced water while we chose our food and brought it over. She was very attentive, friendly, and kickstarted our experience off brilliantly.
The menu was varied- with so many great choices it made our decision hard! We chose the bruschetta, dips plate, and the fries with truffle salt. These dishes were then allocated a time to be brought into the cinema, along with our drinks. The wine and beverage list too had a wide selection.
The seats in Gold Class were super comfy and reclined beautifully. The theatre is well spaced out in terms of seating. The food was brought out quietly during the movie and was delish!
Gold Class was definitely worth the money for the extra special experience!

We tried Event Cinemas for the first time recently, and have already returned. The cinemas themselves are modern, clean, and the seats are very comfortable. The candy bar has a wide variety of snack options from frozen drinks, choc tops, to lollies and gelato.
One trick is to prebook/pay for your tickets online to avoid standing in a cue for tickets. We have prepaid our tickets each time, and it ensures you get served as priority ahead of those that have been lining up.

This review is for Hawthorne Garage, Hawthorne QLD

Love this place! We've popped in to the Hawthorne Garage a number of times now and love pouring over the fabulous range of gourmet goodies and produce. It's a great place to pick up hard to find gourmet grocery items, as well as treat yourself to delicious deli treats and fresh bread. We were recommended here by a friend who told us about the fresh fruit loaf. It is to die for- bursting with so many figs and apricots, and is a delicious compliment to a take away coffee from the front of the store. Yum!

This review is for Raj's Palace, East Brisbane QLD

We have eaten at Raj's Palace for dinner a number of times, tonight included, and have never been disappointed. There is a wide range of menu items from traditional entrees (Tandoori Chicken Tikka is our favourite), to mains such as Mango Chicken (delicious!) and Lamb Bhuna Gosht (another we enjoyed this evening!) We have always found the food to be delicious, with appropriate serving sizes; and the service to be friendly. The number of people collecting their take-away shows this is quite a busy little restaurant!

This review is for IGA, East Brisbane QLD

verified email - 04 Jan 2013

As our local IGA I have always been pleasantly surprised by the quality and range of goods stocked here. I have often picked up some great quality, harder to find gourmet items. I've also sourced good specials at the deli counter, as well as some great specials on their meat. While the fruit and vegetables from time to time can be pricey, the quality is always high.
With their IGA card holder rewards system, you are kept in the loop via email of the extra special offers available to you. I like that they donate an amount from what you spend to your designated local charity also.
A huge bonus is they are always open (late nights and public holidays!)

This review is for Lady Marmalade Cafe, Greenslopes QLD

A gorgeous little cafe filled with lots of fun little bits and pieces from collectables to antiques. The menu is tailored to serve brekky all day, with a small range of sandwiches available, and a cake cabinet bursting with delicious treats! They do their coffee and their food well; so you can see why they get so busy!
