I've been dying to eat here, after seeing the owner on Food Safari some years ago, but something always got in the way...namely distance. Hubby & I were given a Good Food gift card for Xmas, so imagine my delight when I realized that we could use it here!...& let me tell you it was definitely worth the 50km drive (one way). What an incredible experience. The staff were so professional, but at the same time personable, & the food was simply magical. We had a feast starting with the zucchini fritters, octopus salad & that simply gorgeous calamari with the apple/celery salad. What a treat! But my absolute favourite would have to be that spectacular brujet, (fish stew); this was no ordinary stew, it was perfect in every way. The pasticada (beef cheek) was also beautiful, & served with the best gnocchi I've ever had. I still dream about the food here & can't wait till my next free weekend so hubby & I can do it all again.

Had the degustation menu, which was great value for money, at $45 per person. ~$75 if you have matching wines (3 glasses of wine; approx 1 glass for 2-3 dishes). we were so so stuffed by the end of it, but it was very very enjoyable. portion was substantial, and flavours were excellent. and service was good and staff was friendly. we will definitely be back, undoubtedly!

Great quality Croatian inspired dishes. Lovely looking dishes in good sized servings and friendly, efficient service. Had a group lunch here and no one had any complaints. Loved the filled capsicum and cevapi. Hearty food and good atmosphere. Will come again.

Went here for dinner. The service was outstanding! Very intimate setting and a very cosy restaurant. The food was excellent. Quality of the food and the ingredients used were 5 out of 5! The traditional Croatian deserts were amazing. It is not cheap, but the quality is worth the money!

Love this place for coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great for a casual breakfast - the eggs benedict and ricotta pancakes are both worth a try. Dinners are superb too. The set-menu night is a must. The staff are always friendly.

I regularly frequent Dalmatino for coffee or breakfast, or the 3 course set menu on Wednesday nights. The croation influenced food is fantastic for dinner and the breakfasts are very good value - Love the Ricotta pancakes!!!! Best coffee in Port Melbourne!!! Natko is a very friendly owner who makes you feel very welcome as a regular.
