So disappointed - waiting service was terrible, food terrible, bar service was a joke. [redacted due to personal identifier] appeared to be hiding in the kitchen, leaving inexperienced staff to deal with chaos. My steak was tough, meal was not as I requested. Partner's fish was tiny inside a large, very yellow batter. Gave up waiting at the bar for second drinks. We had been seated for an hour before food even arrived. Worse for the tables either side of us. A young family were about to walk out.

We went here for lunch one hot Saturday in January with plans to have a meal and then go to the sand art exhibition next door. It was almost 2pm when we got there but their kitchen is open all day on the weekends. We waited almost 10 minutes to be seated and were told to sit wherever we liked and someone would come and take our order.
We sat outside as it was a nice day and after I told my partner what I wanted to order I went to the bar to get us some drinks. There were four people ahead of me and I got to watch a whole set of tennis before I was served. Then when I finally did get served the girl complained that nobody would help her in the bar. Then I was short-changed over $10 and had to ask how much the drinks were (a pint of beer and a lemon, lime and bitters) so I could get the correct change. I returned to our table with the drinks and asked if someone had taken our order - they hadn't. There were about six tables around us that were piled with plates and glasses that had been there since we arrived. A family was shown to a table outside and we were ignored. By this stage we decided that we would just finish our drinks and leave.
Very disappointing.
have gone to daveys quite a lot and have never been let down by their service and standard of food!!
will always go back there!
We really love the variety they have on there menus!

Lovely set up inside over looking the beach. The food is quite tasty and the staff are friendly and professional. The chefs are good at what they do. Its also a popular night spot for all ages. have never had a bad time there yet!
went for a lunch here, food was good but not memorable, location was great though we'd go to the beach after if the weather was nice
the staff were quite friendly and food was prompt, and it was oddly relaxed and quiet which was good if you wanted a more casual hang out for lunch
used to really love going here for a night out but now i dont really like it. Food is good, and drinks are of a good price too.
Can't really see the beach, as I'm sure I've seen advertised, but you can look over the nice Kananook Creek. Food was nice, so were the wine options. Would certainly return!
Approximate cost: $20
Lovely location and the outside tables are nice but the food is really over priced and disappointing. Stick with just getting drinks here, you can't get a drink too wrong.
We went last night for Mothers Day dinner. Very fast to seat and offer garlic bread entree. New menu that I found a little dissapointing. Plenty of choice in the menu & everyone else was happy with the offerings. Kids meals were delivered promptly as requested and our meals followed soon after. Great atmosphere pleasant staff too.

I have never eaten here, just been for after work drinks. The location is pretty good, and there is a nice outside area which is perfect for warmer nights
I went with a group of friends for a relaxed dinner. It wasn't that relaxing in the end. One meal had a hair in it, another had some steel wool in it. The food tasted nice enough, but I have huge doubts about the hygiene. One good thing was how the staff dealt with it - gave us a couple of free drinks and replaced the meals. BUT we did have to remind the waitress about the difficulties as we were presented with the bill.
The atmosphere in here is really nice. There are nice views of the bay on display while you eat. The prices are average and the food is quite good. I had the steak wish was excellent.
Approximate cost: $25
great atmosphere and decor food quality was good slightly on the expensive side. was there on a saturday night for dinner and it is generally a younger crowd as they go out to the other room to the bar after

My work colleagues took me here Friday afternoon for lunch for my send off. There were about 12 of us. Our waitress was completely hopeless. She couldn't get the orders right and kept coming out to double check with people what they had ordered. The food took forever to come out and then when it did, myself and another colleague didn't get a meal at all. Apparently our waitress didn't put our orders through even though I saw her write them down. So by the time we got our meals everyone else was finished. VERY annoyed - especially given it was my send off!!! All they offered me was a free drink!!! The food was average, very oily and over priced!!!! Would NEVER go back.

This place is really nice to have dinner at. Its prices are average, and it can get really busy so you absolutely have to book ahead but the food is pretty delicous and it has a nice view of the bay while you eat too
Just ok really. Nice if you just want a good quick bite in a comfortable setting. The staff are prompt and polite. Meals come out in good time and are tasty enough

We dined at Daveys this afternoon for Mother's Day with my family of 11. The staff were fantastic, extremely helpful and friendly. Food didn't take long considering how busy the place was. Servings were quite large, we all struggled to finish our meals. Menu read well and a great variety. A great place to dine with the family. Ambiance was great and decor also very nice. Also a good wine and cocktail list.

Overall an ok resturant...wonderful place to go for drinks meals are very nice but are not large. Parma choices are nice i think taht a thursday night
Approximate cost: $25
We have eaten at Davey's a number of times (ie attended family and friends functions). Otherwise we wouldn't normally eat there.
The foods is average. The menu is average, the Service is average.
The environment and decor is clean and quite nice. The staff are friendly but obviously don't like their job.
Once your order has been taken, meals are provided promptly.
Approximate cost: $24
I feel I was forced to eat at Daveys, friends like to go there, because they do not want to travel far to dine. Believe me a 30 min car ride is worth it for anyone living in the Frankston area. I hear the head chef at Daveys has worked at a few places in the last 5 years including Waves, it shows on his menu. There is no style or blending in menu items, it reads very random and very ordinary, someone needs to go back to school. For a hotel to be owned by ALH/BLM group the training of floor staff and management seems to be non existent. I think my 7 year old daughter could do a better job. The place does have nice fittings/furnishings and is quite comfortable for a few drinks on a weekend. Obviously this is how they make there money, because it is not coming from the food or service. Eat somewhere else and come back for drinks only.
Approximate cost: $23
so you made a comment of the staff fair enough but to make a comment of the head chef and his previous employment is just ridiculous! You obviously have forgotten that it is a pub and not a fine dining/ 5 star restaurant!!!
