A much better experience this time round, purchased some more tin for the shed my husband is extending and paid only $8 a sheet. They have plenty of interesting items for sale, some I found were quite expensive but very unusual. There is always something new to find every visit.

My husband and I have been going to De Youngs for some time now, they certainly have helped with building our sheds with the prices they were offering. But now that they have moved to O'Sullivan Beach we have noticed the prices have gone up. I guess they need to pay for this new building (which is huge and well laid out, nearly everything is now undercover) We purchased some tin for building our sheds before christmas and the price was $9 a sheet, 2 weeks later it was $12 a sheet and with our most recent visit we found they are now $15 per sheet. That is a big jump in less than 2 months and I cannot say the quality of the tin was any better than previous purchases. Might have to start looking elsewhere if the prices keep going up.

There must be a strong demand for the sheets of iron while people are on holiday

Wanting to make a chubby house for my young daughter, I went to Deyoungs in search of the timber. Wow!!! There is not much that they don't stock. I managed to get everything I needed for my project. They even cut all pieces to length for me which was great, and time saving. The huge collection af stuff is wonderful, no matter what your looking for... they will probably have it. From tap fixtures, old furniture, metal everything and timber. The pricing was amazing, I walked out with everything for a fraction of the cost of a cubby. The guys are very friendlyand helpful. And always ready to have a laugh with their customer.

This place is a real magical mystery tour - there is always something new and interesting.

I got enough tiles to redo my entire kitchen/dining for under $200, replaced my door handles and even found garden statues for $5 that I have seen elsewhere for hundreds of dollars. Some stock is second hand, but a lot a end-of-run items that you can pick up brand new for next to nothing.

Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Going to buy my next bathroom cabinet from here, they have so much variety and are a fraction of the price of new. The guys there are pretty cool, and also pretty helpful if you need a bit of help with a project. Love the fact its just down the road.

Could spend hours browsing in here :) There is anything you could imagine, from the kitchen sink to a 2 storey high parisian lamp post to a life size cycling clown. Bric a brac galore, lovely staff, my kind of shop
