They make an effort to maintain a high standard and are excellent to deal with- go the extra mile. I especially like their Chewy Orange Almond GF biscuits.

These guys do the most AMAZING raspberry pastries; you can even have them home-delivered by ordering through CERES - so glad they now stock them!

Love this place and its bread.

The simplest things can sometimes be the hardest things to do well. This is definitely the case with traditional breakfast dishes. Because we know them so well, have our own 'favourite' versions, tried 100 different small variations, and great versions.
Yet despite this, Dench manages to impress. With a generous serve, high quality ingredients, lots of thought in the cooking & composition (ie. rather than having thyme buttered mushrooms, which can be a bit greasy in my opinion and lead to unnecessary richness, they serve their thyme scented mushrooms with a hint of lemon juice), and picture perfect presentation.

I was very pleased to stop here en-route to work to pick up something to eat. Such lovely choices of gourmet bread loaves, rolls, panini etc (sure they are pricey ranging $6 to $9 per loaf!!) price aside they looked delicious.

There was a lovely range of croissants, sweets, gourmet pies, muffins and more.

I tried a hot chocolate which was luke warm which I drank within 3 minutes as I drove along.

I will definitely be calling in again to pick up something yummy for breakfast ... better still get there early and sit down and eat in.
I picked up a mushroom and feta pie to have at lunch time and it was delicious, very filling, it had pastry around it with the filling.

Being a local I frequent here regularly. The customers here are mixed and range from mothers with bubs, friends, couples and dogs (outside seating at the front). The food is great, simple really. Freshly baked bread, a variety of fresh panini and great coffee make a great combination for a quick lunch or breakfast.

Great friendly and efficient staff, even when it is extremely busy they try their best to get you a table. Food is served quickly and they have a great range on the menu. The pancakes and omelette are a good choice.

Love this place. Absolutely impeccable service, staff are always so friendly and accommodating (having done my time working in a cafe I know how hard it can be to stay cheery when working on a busy Sunday morning!). Food is lovely, and there are always new and interesting options for the specials. Coffee is fantastic. Can't fault this place really - worst thing is it gets busy at times, but staff always go out of their way to fit everyone in (comfortably).

i love breakfast at dench - the atmosphere, the food, the service. it has been extended now so can seat more. i would definitely recommend!

A truly great bakery with some serious breads as well as pastries, Dench's has some of the most satisfying breakfasts in Melbourne. I have yet to have a bad coffee, I love the toast (of course) and the bacon that is served with my free range eggs (variably poached, fried and scrambled) is delicious - I think it comes from Daylesford. This has been a very popular destination for breakfast or just buying bread and until now its tiny space and small tables have resulted in some wait times. But it seems that they are now expanding Westward into the adjoining building, and perhaps we can now set a table for six on Saturday breakfast.
