I normally only bother to go leave a review if it were a very positive experience. In this instance, I feel obligated to share my terrible experience here. I was quoted on the phone for 2 x-rays, a clean and a general check up. I booked this in and went and had it done. There was nothing wrong there. The receptionist confirmed to me what was done and then proceeded to ask for more than DOUBLE what I was quoted over the phone. I calmly replied, stating the facts of my quote, prior to the appointment. The receptionist immediately switched to a hostile and aggressive demeanour, and suggested that I made up the quote. I told her I was not making it up, asked her to check the booking as I made the booking during the same phone call in which I was given the quote. She aggressively told me to sit down while she went to speak with her colleagues. When she returned she stated she was not at reception during my quote and that a young employee of the dentistry quoted me incorrectly and then continued to be extremely rude and told me I must pay the full price, regardless of being misquoted. I waited to speak with the Dentist after he was finished with his next appointment. She told me and the dentist to talk in a room down the hall, in the back. The dentist explained to me that they were old prices and they hadn't had them for a long time. Our conversation was calm and rational and adult like, as these should be. I understood, I said everyone makes mistakes and was going to pay the price however, that it was not ok to treat any patient the way I was treated by the receptionist, especially given the circumstance where they admittingly had misquoted me. I explained her rude behaviour, aggressiveness and her stating that I lied and made it up. He said this wasn't ok, at which time she came marching into the back room, up into my personal space saying this didn't happen (once again making me out to be lying). The dentist tried to calm her, saying it was ok and that we were sorting everything and for her to calm down. I asked her to step out of my personal space, she then closed the door of the room and positioned herself between me and the door. I asked her to please open the door, that it wasn't ok to close me in a room like this and act so threatening. To wrap it up, I left as soon as I could after getting out of the room and paying the bill (I was given a minor discount off the bill, it was still nearly double the amount of my quote), I just wanted to get out and away. After paying this exorbitant amount, I said please cancel my next appointment, I won't be coming back and that I would like my expensive x-rays that I had just had taken and paid for, sent to me so I can take them to another dentist. This of course couldn't happen, I was told I needed a release and to go through a process to get them (this was my first time ever at this dentist and I have to get a release of my own records from a single session). I don't know why someone would behave this way to a customer, it's likely coming from somewhere else and just shouldn't be brought into what is supposed to be a professional workplace and then taken out on a paying customer. I hope the young employee is ok, (She was very professional and did a great job), but I can only imagine what kind of treatment she may have gotten after this in what is clearly a toxic environment. I would encourage anyone who isn't looking for an experience like this, to not go to this dentistry.

To describe my experience at dental essence will absolutely nothing but a memorable one from the wonderful greeting at the door by the front desk staff to the passionate professional and caring manner shown by the dentist . All my dental needs were met and my confidence levels have changed for the better!! I not only gained a brand new smile but a friendly caring circle of friends that so happened to be my dental carers.. Recommendations galore
