5 reviews about Di's Delightful Plants

Whole-heartedly recommend Di's Delightful Plants, especially for her after sales service. After a very prompt phone call from Di regarding my email re: some yellowing of a couple of plants, we discussed the problem and, after talking for a while, Di identified the packing problem. I hadn't a clue but it was a simple fix which she has promptly instigated.
I've never met such a great response from a business before so absolutely commend her for her care and concern. Problems will always arise, no matter what the business, but such a positive response is what is needed everytime. You can have great confidence in Di and her team to look after you very well.

I’m surprised by the reviews above. I have ordered from here numerous times, without a problem. Plants have always been in perfect condition, wonderful selection of plants especially their huge range of beautiful Salvia.

Communication poor, plants substituted without consultation and dissimilar to what was originally ordered and a fail rate of 70% - 3 out of 10 plants survived and are still alive in Spring. Waste of money and time.

Reading the previous review, not sure shortcomings have been addressed.
Second time I have ordered, putting the blame squarely on myself for lack of plants thriving/surviving last year, although I am very experienced with salvias.
This time around, my heart sank when they were sent just before the June long weekend, and out their control, but stuck in Sydney, due to auto scanning failure, arriving 6 days later after much enquiring as to WHERE THEY WERE., so already a hassle.
Upon arrival, unpacked, noticing some yellowing on leaves, and condition of 4, one in particular, that was pretty poor, a runt, more like a stick with two new shoots, but overall plants had survived, proceeding to follow instructions.
Next day, potted up with premium potting mix, leaving in a sheltered position for acclimatisation.
Only been a week but another order from another salvia grower...Sue Templetons took off like a rocket a few weeks previously, whereas I feel like I am crossing my fingers that these will thrive...yes it is June but the weather is vey warm, so not dormant, as was suggested; well "growth slowed".
*I did text my concerns, especially with posting...no, not all PO facillities work on the weekend...so 2 days sitting around is not unusual, and stuff ups occur...express delivery guarantees quicker delivery but no option...didn't like plastic parcel post bag either...just the box with address is adequate.
probably just dashed my chance of getting a refund if plants do die. : (

A mail order outpost of an Australian propagation nursery, Di's does have an impressive array to offer. There is a monthly selection to choose from either online or sent to your address, specials, and a garden club whereby you can receive advance notice of new varieties. When I subscribed to the mailing list, I found many plants I had been searching for, however the plants themselves were minuscule, and the postage and handling prohibitive, much more than any other M/O nursery I buy from.
However, I have recently looked at the website, and it seems some of these shortcomings may have been addressed. I will continue to peruse their lists, as there really is a wide variety, some of which I had previously only seen in books from overseas. Sometimes you just have to have a thing, regardless of the cost.

I know a lot of effort has been put into this website of late to address some of the shortcomings mentioned. Larger plant sizes are now available and postage prices far more competitive. It looks good too!
