I have been putting off writing this review as a bad review from me is so rare. I am still in absolute shock at how terribly we were treated and very upset that my son's birthday was absolutely ruined. I had chosen to ho,d my son's third birthday at the winery after seeing an advertisement promoting the site as a perfect spot for kite-flying. I visited and was so well looked after by the staff member that I booked it on the spot and went through every detail. The cafe had an extremely small menu and most of our guests were vegetarian and vegan. As it was a childrens party we weren't interested in having a sit down meal and the attendant happily guided me through an alternate option of ordering one of their packages but splitting it up into tapas style servings and that I could just top up and bring some of my own food as they couldnt completely cater to my needs. I returned a week later with my husband and called the very day before to assure that everything was still correct. At this point I began to worry when the details were incorrect but after re-clarifying thought the day would go as planned considering everything had been gone through. On the day, we arrived to have been positoned to the side of the building. I didn't realise how big a problem this was until one of the children fell into a large pit of water that was right in the middle of where they had put the food tables. There was in fact two large pits with dirty stinky water and a lot of mud in the specific area they had positioned us. I began setting up the food only to be approached by a woman quote rudely stating they werent aware we were bringing our own food. I was a bit shocked considering I had only clarified the day before. I clarified this with her but she was continually rude. There was a gentleman that originally appeared very helpful and friendly and remained so until the end of the day. Once again, I had to clarify with them that there was not ten guests but closer to thirty as the toddlers werent going to be sitting down for a meal. The food I bought consisted of a large themed cake, some kale chips, beetroot chips, crackers, carrot and celery sticks and some dip as well as some pretty jars filled with a variety of berries and a watermelon cut into the shape of an aeroplane to suit the theme. I had rigorously discussed the food to be served and had a precise expectation of what was to come. Unfortunately, this expectation was not delivered upon. The cous cous was meant to be split into four from the original very reasonable size. I paid for ten full size meals and was given 14 serves of tiny tapa servings in a sauce dish. The size was what was agreed too but they were 26 short. Even more confusing was that three small plates of olives were in between the serving plate of cous cous tapas. I'd specifically said olives werent appropriate for three year olds. They did however provide me with the forty serves of sundried tomato tarts which were very nice. The dessert platter once again came up short. The cheese platters never arrived and when I questioned them about this they pushed the blame onto me as they had asked if I would like to order anything else and I said no. I said no as I was still waiting for the dessert platter and cheese platters. They had already been ordered and planned and I wasn't exactly going to order more food when I hadn't received what we had been waiting on. I ordered a bottle of wine for my husband and I and instructed them that guests would pay for their own drinks. I had one guests go in for a wine tasting and ignored until she asserted she wanted to buy a bottle. She in fact bought several bottles but left directly after quite shocked by the rudeness. The teas and coffees also never arrived. The worst of the day was that just one hour after it began at 2pm, I was asked to start rounding up guests as they were closing at 4pm instead of 5pm. I had booked the party from 2-5pm. I at first refused. I had paid a balloon twister to work until 4:30pm. My base quote was $400 and I had expected to add more food and drinks to that. They continued to harass me throughout the party. Waitresses were rude and staff members made my guests feel completely uncomfortable. There was just so much wrong with the day that I could not possibly list it all. At the end of the day they added a $50 booking fee to my bill out of nowhere. I was so upset at this point that I argued with them about them not bringing out all the food and how rudely we'd been treated. They werent interested in listening even admitting to adding the hidden fee without ever mentioning something of the sorts. At about 4:30 we still hadnt left and the owner came out and told us to leave right away after my husband had payed hoping that if he just paid they would leave us and stop harassing. boy were we wrong. When I got into the car I burst into tears. Such a perfectly beautiful winery and we were treated like rubbish, embarrassed in front of our guests and completely ripped off. I still just cannot believe how badly they treated us. I will NEVER return and all of my friends whom attended have spread warnings about this place. I'm still just so upset as the original girl dealing with us was so lovely and the site was picture perfect. We had great impressions on not one but two occasions with this lady dealing with us. I don't know how it could turn so badly when everything was so thoroughly talked about. What did we get for $400? three small platters, a bottle of wine and a lot of stress and tears (I have comparison photos of the inadequate servings from full to tapa size).

Approximate cost: $20
