Donovans is a Melbourne institution and such an incredible restaurant. The St Kilda location is gorgeous and the food and service is faultless. It's always a pleasure dining here, we've never had a bad meal.

This is such a beautiful place, particularly for a special occasion. Just had lunch here today and the whole experience left a smile on my face. Beautiful setting, great service and fabulous food. Admittedly I wouldn't be able to afford it myself but I was taken out. We had the asparagus salad to start and it was a complete wonderful surprise. Served with fried cheese and pine nuts. Delicious. Ten I had the Angus T-bone steak. Huge and tasty. The chocolates and petite fours for afters were amazing too. Overall a fabulous experience.

What I love about Donovans is that you feel like you are inside the owners home as they really do look after you. The decor is so nice and perfect in winter as they have a fireplace. For dinner I would recommend booking as it is very popular for celebrations and business meetings. The food is very good and you know you are going to get a great feed. My favourite thing is the baked Alaska dessert which is enough to share for a few people. Donovans has been doing great food for years and their service is one of the reasons people keep coming back. Is location is also great as it is right on the beach.

Best food, best service and our favourite restaurant in Melbourne. The prawns are amazing. I had two entrees, a main, a dessert, truffles and coffee and it felt just right. We will keep going back.

Eating here is a fantastic experience. The decor is beautiful - rustic and warm, it's almost like eating in someones lounge room or beach house. The food is amazing and their is a great cocktails and wine list. Make sure you save some room for desert...

A classic beachfront restaurant in Melbourne. A stylish beach house with cool knick knacks, wine bottles and memorabilia everywhere. On hot days the waiters open the windows and let the breeze in. In winter the fireplace is roaring and you have take your wine to the couches to drink between courses.
Food is great and filling. Wine list is extensive, and the waiters have good knowledge of what's going on. There are lots of decently priced fantastic wines on the list.
A must for anyone visiting Melbourne.
