At the age of 38 l was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Sleep Apnea is a life threatening illness. When you sleep, your throat closes over and causes you to stop breathing and of course interrupts your sleep. ( that's the basic short version.)
At that stage in my life (4years ago) i was a single mother, caring for my mother with dementia (mum lives with me) and my daughter whom has epilepsy and i was working night shift (I have now changed to day shift.)
As you can imagine i was very busy and to top it all off, l wasn't getting the sleep l needed to carry on.
My sleep specialist suggested a C Pap machine. OMG not only did l look like Darth Vader but l felt like him! I took 6 months off work to try to get use to this machine that was... uncomfortable,annoying, scaring my daughter and in the end l put it in the cupboard and that is where it has stayed. How anyone can sleep with a C Pap machine is beyond me!
I became very depressed and totally exhausted and have been that way for the past 4 years. I had a sinus operation this year in the hope it may help with my sleep apnea (it didnt) This was affecting my whole life. By 1pm l'm usually back in bed having a sleep. This Sleep Apnea was controlling my whole life. I never had the energy to do anything.
Someone suggested a sleep splint. I started to surf the net for a dentist who could make me one.
I made an appointment to see Dr Harry Marget at the East Bentleigh Dental Group.
Dr Harry is a very nice man and made me feel very comfortable. He seemed very confident that a dental splint would work. Dr Harry took the time to explain everything to me and answered my questions (l had plenty of questions!) As i was sitting in Dr Harry's chair the tears started to fall. I was soooo exhausted and so desperate for someone to help me.
I went back to Dr Harry to have my mould made for my splint, which was quick, easy and pain free.
10 days later my splint was ready. Dr Harry showed me how to put the splint in my mouth... take it out and also what needed to be done to care for my new dental splint.
The first night l put my splint in (it is now known as my dummy) l fell straight to sleep..... when i woke in the morning l started to cry... could this be working??????
Well last night was night number 4! l slept like a baby!! It's now after 2pm and i have been running around all day.... no nap for me!
I was expecting my new splint to give me jaw pain and thought it would take me awhile to get use to it. I have been pain free and it is comfortable..fell asleep straight away on the first night... only a great dentist could get it that right!
Dr Harry has given me my life back. I cannot thank him enough for what he has done. I cannot put into words how l feel. We take our health for granted.... not anymore. Thanks to Dr Harry, l have a second chance. I'm sure when l see Dr Harry in a couple of weeks l will cry again but this time it will be tears of joy.

On Friday the 30th September I had 14 teeth extracted and new False teeth put in immediately by Dr Harry Marget from East Bentleigh Dental Group, under a general anaesthetic at Waverly Private. I cannot believe how easily I came through this procedure, I have not experienced any pain bruising or discomfit. New teeth fantastic. Dr Harry is a genius, I was not looking forward to the procedure, he made everything so light hearted a true professional in his field. Many Thanks to Dr Harry and staff. Ian W Fitzpatrick

I found East Bentleigh Dental Group very efficient and friendly. The service was great and i was very happy with my treatment.

As a extremly nervous patient , I recently had dental work completed under dental sedation, it was great. I have no memory of the procedures, I felt no pain and my recovery was easy. I would highly recommend this process.

Have just caught up with the good reviews on this business. My wife and I wish to concur. Dr Nancy Xu has been looking after us for years and she is the best. Very gentle, always mindful of our comfort and is a terrific dentist. Thanks to her we are no longer fearful of dental treatment.

Great pratice! They are lovely people and do a fantastic job on your teeth. Relatively pain free and todays clean with a hygenist was excellent! I highly recommend them

If you have any young children, you have to go see Dr Victor!! He is amazing!!!!!! My son was very scared of dentists and he now loves going. Wonderful person, very good with kids.

I have been using the Japanese Dentist Saori for a few years now, and I have been extremely happy. My teeth are gently cleaned and polished and i always finish with a smile on my face. I use Medibank private so i normally dont have to pay much to go every 6 months.

I don't like going to the dentist, but I had a good experience here. I took my kids (aged 2 and 4) for their first check up and Tran was lovely with them. They were also happy with their gift bags and toy after their check up.
I also had my teeth checked, cleaned and a couple of x-rays taken, Saori (sp) was quick and thorough. I was expecting a hefty bill at the end, but I was pleasantly surprised when there was no extra payment after my health fund deduction. I too received a gift bag to take home.

i never thought getting a wisdom tooth pulled would be quite a hilarious experience. the service was excellent and prompt and the staff were very nice to deal with. i would get all my oral work done at east bentleigh dental group.
