Have been here a few times and always had good experiences. Yummy Spanish cuisine. The banquets are great value with plenty of food. Make a booking as can be busy during summer even on weeknights

When we come to Williamstown a visit to el BURRO for tapas is always on our ‘must do’ list.
We were lucky enough this time to be here on a Thursday and sampled their ‘special’ chicken sliders which were priced at just $4 each. The crispy chicken filling made these a ‘present from heaven’- definitely the nicest slider I have ever tasted. The jugs of Sangria on special for $20 for a litre were also a tempting option. I settled for a 200ml glass of the white sangria for $8 but after just one sip – of the nectar from heaven- I regretted not buying a 500ml jug for $16.
The stuffed mushrooms are always one of our favourites as is the pork belly which melts in your mouth yet has a lovely crispy crackling. In the past, we have tried their larger shared meal of Carne Paella which was also enjoyable. However, my favourite dining out, experience is always a selection of Tapas and el BURRO has wonderful Tapas. I must revisit in my memory the Chicken slider once more. The little bun was soft with a perfect golden brown dome. The crispy battered chicken peeked out from its soft bed, just enough to be alluring, yet retaining a sense of mystery as to what accompanied it. The ratio of filling to bun was just right, enabling the slider to be eaten with dignity whilst providing the perfect balance of flavours.
Service as always was of a very high standard.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this place truly deserves it.
Had a really lovely experience here a few days back. I
t's not your average Friday night dinner spot at around $60-70pp but still relatively affordable.
The food and service are both faultless.
The atmosphere is old school, cosy, shabby chic.
A few of the items we ordered:
scallops
honey-glazed chorizo and goats cheese
seafood paella
homemade lemonade
white sangria

As a Williamstown local, El Burro is one of my favourite local restaurants. I went here for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed with my choice! My friends and I shared tapas and paella. Everything we ordered was wonderful, the paella was excellent! Would highly recommend the pork belly, arancini balls and the lamb and feta quesadilla. The waiters are all very lovely and the vibe is fantastic. Such a great place to enjoy a drink and good food with friends and family. Small place- must book a table on friday/saturdays as it packs up fast!!

El Burro is a small Spanish restaurant that specialises in tapas and paellas. The paella are big enough to share between two as a meal or as part of a shared meal in a bigger group. My favourite tapas would have to be the arincini-full of flavour and crisp on the outside. The sangria was pretty good but not the best I have had. I think during busier times they may need to hire an extra waiter as you can be waiting a little while to put in your order. All in all you get great Spanish food that tastes authentic and isn't too pricey.

First off the music is great there and so is the staff there so happy to be working there, The very first thing i ever tried was the Pan Fried Scallops with chorizo and caramelized apple they are out of the world and for seconds i had the Seafood Paella the herbs and spices in the dish are amazing they serve you so much you just cant eat it all the prawns are huge. Also a huge range of fancy cocktails for the cocktail lover. I suggest to make a reservation as they get full very fast.

I've been here twice now and was surprised both times at how quiet the place was on a sunny Sunday arvo. It's a little pricey maybe but the food is really excellent. The Patatas Bravas were amazing. Vegos are fairly well served which is quite unusual for a tapas place.

When it opened this place was amazing, but our most recent visit lead to a table of upset stomachs from what we think wete the croquettes. Despite this, the remaining meals were yummy albeit a little overpriced.

Approximate cost: $35
