I would say that this place is average in terms of the food offering - predictable menu which is reliably delivered.
Yet on the other hand the staff have great personality and are delightful, and the atmosphere is further helped by the cool courtyard space.
My friends and I shared two fiestas (pork and beef) and a bowl of nachos between the four of us for dinner. The food was delicious, but for some reason each fiesta meal was served with only five small tortillas (despite being advertised as a meal to share between two people), so we ended up with lots of excess filling to eat without the tortillas. Service was great. There's a lovely courtyard out the back of the restaurant full of greenery, colour, and fairy lights - perfect for dinner and drinks on a summer evening.
The first time I went to El Chino it was for brunch and to be honest I was disappointed. I ignored the waitress' advice about getting 2-3 tacos as I'm a lowly student. Therefore despite enjoying my taco I was left hungry. However, I went back for dinner on the insistence of a mexican food loving friend and my table of friends shared a stack of tacos and a series of side. It was all delicious and fresh, a welcome change from the typical heavy tex mex dishes. The price of dinner was roughly $20 each and we were all full and satisfied.
My summary is LISTEN TO THE WAITSTAFF haha, one taco is not a meal, it's a snack. A delicious snack though! Also their coffees are beautiful..
Approximate cost: $20

The courtyard space sounds great as well as the customer service, but I probably won't visit due to the meals.
