El Gordo is a small and cosy cafe restaurant located in Chancery Lane with indoor dining, and small outdoor dining tables for two along the laneway. They get busy so it can be difficult to get a table however they have good takeaway service. Inside there is a real Spanish type feel to the cafe with displays of local artwork and various Spanish figurines.

El Gordo make a range of Spanish/Mexican foods including burritos, spinach and cheese muffins, gourmet pies and Spanish omlettes. They always have a huge selection of delicious slices, cupcakes and other homemade sweet treats.
Their coffees are made well using Coffee Basics coffee beans.

The service is consistently friendly.

The only downside is that they are only open weekdays, not weekends, except special occasions.
