A shop for booklovers not bargain hunters. Owner is passionate about not only books but authors as well. Will always order in books for you. I would rather pay a few dollars more, shop locally, avoid driving miles and shopping centres and actually enjoy the shopping experience. A treasure we must keep.

The books are quite pricey here but the shop itself is quite nice.

It's great because you can buy vouchers and you can sign up with them and they email you when they have special events of local artists or novilists.

Awfully rude and obnoxious sales assistance. Would not shop here again. The books are expensive. Obsolete service now there are internet book shops.

A great range of books but be careful ordering out of stock items you may find despite paying up front you are hit with additional costs, something I haven't encountered at any other bookshop.

I often just drop in to this shop. Staff are knowledgeable and passionate about books, reading and intellectual pursuits which they support by the conferences that they organised and book talks. They often advise you of other authors who write in a similar vein to one you have purchased and if you are stumped for a gift they are extremely helpful. A real bookshop with a soul.

I got to admit I haven't been here in a few months but it is a wonderful PROPER book shop. NOT like the other chains we are all used to. A proper bookshop like you see in quirky movies; reasonable prices and the lady has a vast knowledge about publications past and present. And she's happy to order for customers too.

This is a wonderful book shop where the titles are hand selected for their quality and interest. This is not a shop in which you'll find cheap junk. All the books are of the highest quality and cover every possible subject and style. The children's book shop (located above the main store) has an unbeatable range of first class kids reading materials. This is probably my favourite book shop in Melbourne, and along with Readings is one of the few where trash is not a major theme.
