If you value your property, I would not recommend Engage Property Management to anyone. Over the years, I have had a few rental properties, and dealt with many Property Managers. Engage would come bottom of my list. They certainly didn’t act in my best interest when looking after my property. My tenant moved out, and left the house in a pretty dirty state. Certainly not in the same state in which they moved in, as was proven by the many photos, and yet it was all ticked off as fine. Light bulbs missing; dirty carpets, stained cushions, dirty floors, and blocked drains, to name but a few of the issues. It has been a very expensive experience. I have now launched proceedings with the Dept of Fair Trading.

I had a fantastic experience with engage property.
The property manager, Taylah was so helpful with finding myself and my daughters a house when we were very desperate.
Throughout our lease Taylah was always on top of things especially if we put a job request in it was done straight away. I could reccomend engage property enough!

We are very happy with Engage and are finally enjoying owning our investment houses, after plenty of drama with a large management company. John and the Ladies have shown empathy to me and I think that if I didn't get this new management company I would have sold both houses. Engage, to cap things off, also discovered that my old agent had not increased the rents, so we are also $50 a week better off with engage as well. thanks and best wishes. Coleen.

We own 3 rental properties and foolishly handed the keys to John Gilbert for him to rent out. He assured us that most rentals and sales occur from the Internet so after 2 weeks of hearing nothing on two properties, we looked on the Internet ourselves to see how the property looked and there was no listing for them. After phoning, texting and emailing multiple times over the period of a week to their office and mobile phones, I got a call to a text from say that I was 'harassing' him.
I foolishly believed the promises of 'professional photographers; a list of tenants waiting; the best management team; prompt service; bla bla bla'

To top it all off after I complained, John gave me an abusive phone call and dumped our keys into to the letterbox without warning. He knew we had to evict our previous tenants from one property so we had to change the locks again. Now the keys are gone as the previous tenants probably took them when they came to get their mail. All this was after I expressly told John to put them in another location or I could come and collect them from his office. After this I thought it only fair and reasonable that he pay for the lost keys since he was the last person with them and should have been responsible for them.

I am currently going through the Department of Fair Trading and any other avenue I can to make John pay for the replacement on principal. They approached John and appealed for him to do the right thing but John's response was that there was no contract in place so he will not pay the $200 to get the locks change. Now I have to go through other channels and get legal advice. Why couldn't John just do the right thing? I guess he does not have a healthy conscience.

I would say that this business fails the following

This is a very misleading review, as we both know. - 1 - key cost was refunded. even though you provided no evidence. - 2 - Fair trading must investigate every complaint, regardless of how loony it is. They called us and then determined no action was justified after a 3 minute converse. - 3 - you have 2 properties not 3. - 4 - Engage property terminated dealings with you and you still insisted we continue as agent. I understand this has offended you, but Business decisions are made for purposes of viability only, nothing personal. -5 - there was no abusive call from John Gilbert, staff who were present when he phoned you to end the agreement, have witnessed this, you need to be aware of this. - 6- Engage has around 500 properties under management. I just read the estate agent in questions review. They accused me of being dishonest so I want to set the record straight. At the time of my review I had 3 rental properties although one was a dual occupancy. I also had a place in the USA so that technically makes it 4 if you want to be picky. You and I both know that you lost our keys and did not do the job that you were employed to do. This cost us money. I found your response above as arrogant as you were in person towards me. Using my complaint as a platform to discredit me and a platform to promote your business is very poor PR. Calling me in to discuss it would have been more honest and forthright. I would be happy to give a full rundown of the incompetence of the aforementioned business to anyone who has questions. Engage had 50% trust at the time of writing their response to my review so I suggest to them they just leave it at that before it gets worse.

Scott and I are extremely pleased with engage property .We have found Nish to go out of her way at all times to assist us with anything we have asked of her. We feel totally relaxed with Nish looking after our property and can't speak highly enough about her care and professionalism she shows.
We would without hesitation recommend Nish to anyone seeking the best care for their investment properties.

Just a note to let you know our property experience with Engage Property has been very positive to date. Engage found us a great tenant who is looking after the place well and all payments have been on time. They were incredibly thorough checking references and credit histories, to the point where we were confident in there recommendations.

Engage has exceeded our rental expectations for the property and made the whole process stress free. All correspondence with Nish and Engage Property has been professional and backed up in writing.

I would have no hesitation in using Engage in future Real Estate matters and would recommend them highly to others.

I have employed Nishalee James of Engage Property Management to manage my second investment property. The investment property (as I imagine a lot of people are) was a stretch to the financial income and a bit of a gamble, so to speak. Nish eased all financial concerns with not only promises of a ‘A' grade tenant, but actually delivered before settlement of the purchased investment property.
There was no problem too small nor too great & were resolved with what seemed very little effort. Tradesmans quotes for repairs/upgrades, professional cleaners, market valuation of property. These are to name a few of the many services I received without hesitation. I even found Nish assisting with the bin collection night when I could not attend the property due to being out of town.
All in all I have found Nish to be very professional, punctual, straight to the point and without a doubt ambitious with her career. I wish her all the best in her chosen career of Property Management and from my dealings “sky is the limit”. I have no hesitation in referring Nish and her team from Engage Property Management to absolutely anyone. Again thanks Nish.

My husband and I have recently employed the services of Engage to rent out two properties we own in Dudley, Newcastle. We have owned rental properties for 20 years and are experienced in the service provided by Property Managers.
Other Property Managers have informed us that the best possible rental price we could expect from the more expensive property we own, was $160 per week less than what Engage were able to obtain for us.
My husband and I are ecstatic with the rental price and therefore return on our properties.
After 20 years' experience with rental properties I am comfortable in stating that the Engage Team are superior in the service they offer, their professionalism and the positive relationships they build with both tenant and landlord.
The Engage Property team come with my highest recommendation.
