We went here today and found the service fine, food fine and prices good but as soon as we strolled into the Cinema (4) we were hit by a very overpowering smell of mould. The seats were torn and in some there were holes. The seats felt greasy and grubby. It wasn`t relaxing sitting in grubby chairs with a pungent odour assaulting your lungs for 2 hours.
I think the cleaning and maintenance of this cinema are below average.
Don't like complaining but I hope it is considered constructive criticism.

Cheers

This is a great cinema for all the family as the tickets are quite cheap-about $8.50.I recently went there in the school holidays & it was quite busy,so if you can, book ahead to make sure that you'll get the seats that you want. The staff were very friendly & they have some great deals on popcorn & drinks. Will definitely go back again.

I love that the ticket prices are so cheap ($8.50) certainly makes going to the movies affordable. The staff are always friendly and I like that there are allocated seats. I once was there when the movie cut out and they gave me a voucher to come back and see the movie for free so that was good customer service in my opinion. Only downside is one of the seats was broken last time I went and it was my allocated seat so I was stuck with it... but overall I normally have a good experience!

This is a great cinema fir anyone wishing to go and watch a movie, all tickets have been reduced in price and are now all under $10 that's even for an adult ticket. You can download the app on your smartphone to pre pay tickets to beat the line.

The Event Cinema at Glendale has the bus stops outside their door and also plenty of parking. It's good value at the moment for the $8.50 adults, pensioner and childrens ticket are just $6.50 each. They have 2D, 3D, VMAX and the goldern lounge. You pay more for your ticket price at VMAX, Goldern lounge and I think 3D. I have seen movies in both the 2D and VMAX cinemas.

As well as being a great cinema to see a movie at they offer a reward club called "Cinebuzz" which requires you to swipe your card each time you buy a ticket and after collecting a number of points you get a free admission.

I love going to the movies but this cinema is getting very expensive especially for a family to visit. You need to look at cheap days and ways to get tickets cheaper.

Greater Union at Glendale is probably the best cinema currently located in Newcastle/Maitland. It has large theatres with big screens and comfy seats where the arm rests go up. They always have the largest selection of new movies to see as well. They have the option of 3D movies and they have a large games room with a variety of gaming machines. There are plenty of toilets in the bathrooms and they also hold big overnight movie marathons throughout the year around public holidays. With that being said, they are, however, the most expensive of all the cinemas as well, with an adult ticket costing $16, $13 for a student and $11.50 for a child. Naturally, as cinemas go, the food is also really expensive, making a trip to the movies a significant expense for families.

Approximate cost: $11.50-$16
