The only reason Fernwood, Ballarat got 4/5 stars is because they don't cater for new mums that great. I went in 2011 after my son was born and they only had daycare hours as a couple of hourly sessions around 12 for $5.50 each. I wanted more flexibility with my work outs so that I could reach my goals easier.
Apart from the childcare the gym is amazing. With different storys for weights and tredmills etc, you have the freedom to roam the gym doing what you want or whats on your workout plan that you do with a PT when you join up. And when your finished working out you can have a sit in the massage chair and have a shower, using their hair dryers to get ready for the rest of your day. I had a great experiance I just wish the childcare was a little more flexible.

ive been a member for about a year now and can say im disappointed and feel ripped off! and i haven't been back for 6 months if i wasn't in a contact with them i would have left ages ago

Expensive, and no car parking. Often the equipment and TVs were broken. Dodgy 'special events' where they cancel all regular classes and make you pay (again) for the *special* classes. They are just out to make a quick buck and survive because they are the only women's only gym.

I def didn't like the gym here. The staff didn't even want to know me. I wanted to get into a gym routine and they didn't even try to find something that suited me. very disinterested.

The variety of training options at Fernwood Ballarat is fantastic with so many different classes and fully equipped strength and cardio areas. I love the atmosphere in the club, everyone from staff to members are very friendly and welcoming. I love working with my Personal Trainer who pushes me to a new level of fitness with each session! Highly reccommend it!

Fernwood has a great relaxing atmosphere and is always welcoming. Additionally the equipment is top of the line and easy to use which allows for an effective workout. Keep up the great work Fernwood :)

Fernwood is without a doubt Ballarat's best gym. I love the fact that it is a female only gym. The staff are always extremely welcoming and encouraging. The equipment is top quality and well maintained. The bathroom/locker area is always clean. I would have found the experience much better if I had another to exercise with, I knew no-one in the classes and there were many clicky groups of girls that had been going for awhile. I felt lonely and dropped out. Maybe this was mostly my issue. I did feel pressured to have a personal trainer and food coach, which I did not like. Fernwood is very good for price. Would definitely recommend.
