It has been taken over by completely new owners so the menu is very different to what it used to be. Great service.
Food was tasty msybe a touvh salty, service o/k but I did have to ask for fingerbowls, eating crab lobster and prawns an essential
Ah the good old Fishermans Pier. It has been around for ages and no doubt with the quality of the food and the level of service they offer will be here for many many years to come.
The seafood platter is always my favorite here. Although it is always funny when the wife order her meal first and then I say "I'll have the seafood platter" and the waiter quietly goes to me "oh sorry sir thats for 2 people" and I'm like, "yep I know that, but I'll finish it by myself" :)

i loved the steak the food was very high quality and the prices were pretty reasonable,in a really nice location and had a real great feel about it
we went here on our anniversary and it was such a beautiful place to dine ,very romantic and the food was absolutely beautiful...we had the lunch special my hubby loved the steak while i really enjoyed my fish
A very old business i know but it is still a great place and i have just been here for the 1st time as i thought they only served fish but boy was i wrong, they make a fabulous steak cooked to perfection with your chouce of sauces, my fav being pepper and i have to say it was 1 of the better pepper sauces i have had, the staff were so friendly with nice smiles on their faces that helps make it a fine dining experiance and for the quality of food the price was very affordable
Approximate cost: $28.00
Been here once while in Geelong, and loved it! The food was so yummy, price was good. Nice place to relax with friends. And i love the veiws you get from there. Even great to have a fish also off the peir
Had a lovely dinner hear last night food was impeccable the fresh quality is the best in Geelong and the staff were so full of compliments making my dinning experience second to none.
My partner and i went here as we wanted to spoil ourselves and we ordered the seafood platter with lobster. It was amazing. Food was cooked perfectly. The weather was shocking so the place was pretty quiet so for us the service was quick. We left extremely full
We went on a fine sunny day with high hopes. Given the beautiful weather that day, we spent hours searching for an up-market restaurant by the ocean, hoping to relax and enjoy some fresh, beautifully-cooked seafood. The restaurant is nicely situated with an absolutely stunning 180-degree ocean view. Given its prime location and the many fishermen around, we assumed that there would be an abundance of fresh seafood available.
Our waitress was friendly and warm; however service was a little bit slow, we waited about 10 minutes before we could place our drinks order, and then another 15-20 minutes after that for our menus to be delivered. We also found, like the other reviewers, that the food was disappointing. We ordered from the express lunch menu, because we had been walking for a while and still had plans for the rest of the day. If the food quality for the express lunch menu and the main menu is the same, then I would definitely not recommend people to go.
The food we ordered was simple - battered fish of the day & chips, and grilled trevally & chips. Both tasted like frozen fish, not fresh at all - given the "fish of the day" label we were sorely disappointed. The beer batter was heavy and doughy, as well as a tad burnt for my liking. The chips were soggy and lacked flavour, tasting instead like starchy mush.
I understand that the express lunch menu is marketed for convenience, for people to have a quick lunch in the middle of their busy days. However, given this restaurant's upmarket image, I would think that basic standards should be maintained, even for this express menu - at the very least, only fresh seafood should be served in order to live up to this image.
Overall, a big disappointment, and would not recommend.
Approximate cost: $25
Kind of ironic that you ordered from the express menu, yet you were kept waiting almost 30 minutes to get your menu.
Went hearing great things but was very disappointed. Seafood platter looked great but was tasteless. Wouldn't go back. Service was good, but didn't make up for the fact the food was bad!
Approximate cost: $50+
As with other reviewers, we found the food to be lacking in any zing. It doesn't mean that it was bad, however the price of the food did not match the quality. Barramundi and lobster were ok, however were nothing exciting to the palate, instead being on the plain side and not offering any flavour or zest that a top seafood restaurant should provide. Views from the restaurant are very pleasant with the windows overlooking the water. Given the prices charged however we expected more than what was on offer. Service whilst friendly was not as a top restaurant should be where the waiter should offer suggestions as to the best dishes of the day and drinks to match. Service from the kitchen was a bit slow with the break between entree and main taking about 20-25 minutes!
Approximate cost: $35-60
A very expensive place for a meal that really isn't all that much to rave about. I've had better meals in a pub for a lot less cost. The service was ok, although the waiter hovered around a lot, and kept asking us if we were enjoying. It's a bit rude and very hard to answer someone when you've got a mouthfull of food!!
Approximate cost: $90
Had a special evening to celebrate and rang to get a booking for explaining it was for a wedding anniversary. we wound up being seated upstairs. ( the view is very disappointing in the upstairs room) we had very long waits between courses and to get service for drinks.
The food was good but it wasnt any better than other venues, and as it has a premium price I expected a dinning experience that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else.
Approximate cost: $180
My husband and I came here for a joint celebration - our first wedding anniversary and his birthday - so we wanted something extra special. What we got was a beautiful view, a lovely dining room, fantastic service, a really appealing menu, and disappointingly bland food! It was in no way awful, but everything from entree through to dessert just didn't meet the high standards of everything else. Our waiter recommended an excellent wine which we really enjoyed, but the food was the only thing that has made me reluctant to return to this venue - especially considering the relatively high prices.
Approximate cost: $230 for two
Wonderful dining experience.Fishermans Pier is an institution in Geelong and known for its fresh seafood.I had never made a point of visiting before as I dont eat seafood but on a recent visit I was pleasantly suprised . I had a delicious vegetarian meal and the others in my party raved about their seafood dishes. The service was unbeatable. It is quite expensive so probably more for those special occasions for most people I think.
