Brilliant fish, chips and burgers with great service. I'd drive 20 mins rather than go to my local as the food is that good.

Best Fish & Chips in the area. Went through an ordinary patch for a while, but seems to be getting back on mark again. Calamari is tender and not that horrible fake stuff. Chips are generally crisp. Fish is tasty

These are the best fish and chips in the area, very reasonably priced, with a great choice of different kinds of fish, and always a friendly reception!

Have been getting our fish n chips from here for years. The quality has always been consistently good. The burgers are also excellent! The potatoe cakes are yum and they sell south melbourne dim sims. Yum!

I only ever order chips, potato cakes and pineapple fritters so am unable to comment on the seafood, but what I order is really good for the price. The chips are thick cut and not oily and they always thrown in an extra potato cake. The pineapple fritters are so good and not too much batter is on it.

Its been a few years that we have been at this fish n chip shop and so today we stopped there for lunch after being in the area.

We were pleased to find that the same owners being present as last time, so we were pretty sure that the quality of the food was going to be as good as we remember it from a long time ago.

Yes our lunch was delicious! We ordered a couple of packs which consisted of flake, fish bite, scallops, calamari, prawns and chips.

The best part of fried fish is good quality batter and this place knows how to make it perfectly. It was golden fried, good amount of batter which coated the fish and other items.

Chips were crisp and golden and lightly salted!! YUM!

We also received small satchels of Masterfoods tartar sauce and lemon wedges as part of the meal packs.

This is a clean, well presented shop with a couple of tables to sit inside to eat which came in handy for us.

EFTPOS facilities are available to pay your order.

I personally did not feel that the quality met the price, yet the chips were very tasty, i just had higher expectation of the fish. Although the shop is clean and well presented. People are polite and nice, overall it was reasonably a good experience.

There is NO '2 piece of fish' value pack, which meant we went for the '4 person family pack'. For three of us, this was far more than we really wanted to spend on fish and chips, but we had high expectations after finding the shop on WOMOW.

It turns out if you do the maths that the family pack isn't really much of a saving over ordering things seperately. It does have dimsims from the Sth Melb market, however these were EXTREMELY SALTY, and were too hot to touch for about 15 minutes. The dimsims seemed like they had been fried two or three times they were that hot and hard! They were close to inedible. Potato cakes were a little oily.

On the plus side the chips were above average and the flake was large, juicy and well cooked. Calamari rings were also nice.

We will go again, but will stick to just the flake and chips next time.

been going here for years for fish and chips but lately its been going down hill. you would used to get say the snack pack for example. it would be full of chips filling half the box then 3 pieces of large shark bites. but now you get it and your lucky to get a handfull of chips and pieces of shark so small its not funny

Good old fashioned fish & chips, in a modern shop, great service and large menu. Often have 5 or more staff working at once so near have to wait more than 5 minutes even when they are flat out...

I live right near Flaked Out, and I love having fish and chips every once in a while. The chips are much nicer than other places I've tried, they aren't soggy and not too salty. The grilled fish is cooked perfectly and I loved the battered fish that was super crispy. There's not much of a wait, about average and the service is average, busy but polite.

We ordered fish and chips from Flaked Out last Sunday night and they were fantastic. Recently I have had some poor experiences with fish and chips shops and I was beginning to loose hope that I would ever find a good one. The fish (I had flake) was nice and thick and the batter crispy. They told us the Dim Sims were the ones from the South Melbourne market (the really huge ones) and they tasted great.
I can highly recommend this place if you are looking for good fish and chips. I'd even go as far to say that its worth driving to if you live a little way away.

Approximate cost: $6.00
